Winston grew up with an irrational fear of his father, which resulted in a distant relationship with a very stoic man.
He deeply desired a relationship with his father, so he worked hard over a period of 5 years to find ways connect, trying all sorts of things to strike up a conversation... some worked, some didn’t.
“I have time and I’ll keep trying!”
Unfortunately time ran out.
His father suffered a massive heart attack and never recovered. The trauma Winston experienced would end up impacting every facet of his life.
Winston shares for the first time his journey of healing that spans 20 years. From that fateful day and culminating in a moment of radical self acceptance.
“I have always been told about the power of forgiveness, but I never believed it… until I felt it.
When I forgave myself.”

Powerfully told, Winston. Throughout your story, I was taken through a whole range of experiences, some I related to, some I didn't, but through all of them, I could feel your emotion, and almost cried when you struggled to speak through the pain to continue telling your story, and I'm glad you did, because if you didn't, I never would've gotten to hear how this story ended, with you realizing you've always had the power to choose how you see things, how you interpret them, and how you feel about them, and realizing you're free.
