What a beautifully powerful voice Sis Jessye had, and how she used that voice---a gift from God----to exalt and magnify our Savior Jesus Christ! When I listen to this, within my spirit I am moved to start weeping, for I LOVE MY LORD!!! Magnificent!!!

The best part of the performance is seeing 93-year old Marian Anderson fumbling with her program at the beginning. The grandiose orchestration of this concert takes a great deal away from the Spirituals, and Jessye Norman's theatrical mannerisms suck even more life from them. Marian Anderson knew how to deliver this music.
