This build is such a strong counter to bruisers. You will win every single trade and you do enough damage to be a threat (unlike some other on-point tank builds). Not a great build in open areas, but as long as there is a point to fight over, you will do very well.

Hey man I love the vid! I am also pvp tank youtuber. I plan on making a full tank guide (combat and gear) once the new patch comes out. I like this content so I will refer to your channel as an alternate tank set up using more magic based weapons. Do you have an updated guide? I think reverse stab you're trolling - leaping strike is much stronger, positioning, movement and being first into those bombs to scream, drop oblivion on the final count of the bomb is essential. Reverse stab just doesnt offer that - even with cooldowns and the weak buff removal Other than that i liked everything else, we have a very similar mind set in terms of tanking - fortifying shield rush should be an absolute must as well! Then stacking Resil + freedom (minimum 4 freedom) - also on the shield you can roll a Slash/Frozen ward > refreshing IMO Then the new patch brings in that new fortify perk when you block damage? this will proabably replace sturdy energy but stackable on Chest + shield which will be very handy

I think leaping strike you are trolling. Easily interruptable, huge SNS cooldowns, and reverse stab resets the timer on debuff and can self cleanse. It is an insane ability with a stagger and grit built in, can be used for stamina regen plus a sure fire way to proc sturdy energy. Stab has a much higher skill ceiling than leap for defence. Freedom i also think is an awful perk for tanks. We have a shield to mitigate root/CC. I would take refreshing or elemental aversion or even invigorated over it all day.

May I add? Leaping strike is formidable to escape in sticky situations (eg when your healer is dead), reverse stab is just so clumsy to hit imo that isn't really worth it. Talking about perks, wouldn't it be best to play full resilient and shirking fortification? And add the new fortifying perk on the shield as soon as it comes out? (Ofc weapon perks above shirking)

@@def_metal I wanted to follow up - i took your advice on board as i'm not too much of a wanker, agreed with Freedom that has been removed from our builds, i did try reverse stab but i just dont see it being viable in wars. Have used it in about 5-10 so far, hard to hit and very situational. I am still using leaping strike for attack shield bash for defence (situational) I wouldnt rate invig/vigor either, Resil + refreshing with 1 shirking fort/ele aversion is great atm

What's your opinion on swapping Counter Attack for Recuperation? Feel that would fit the defence more. And what do you think about the new Stam Recovery perk on amulets? Would allow us to swap Nimble for Regeneration in earring maybe... Nice guide as always🙂 "Shields as one!"

Wouldn't be more worth take one of the two ultimates? You can easily hit the 6 stacks with just a double hitting orb on 3 people. The other one would be easy to hit too, just throwing a heavy attack and instant reset.

For me reverse stab isn't really optimal. Reasonably speaking I think you're looking at something like leaping strike. Even in the eventuality it gets cancelled, it's still better than reverse stab. Except I suppose in the instances where the transfer of a debuff works. But, realistically, how relevant is that? Omitting an escape for a potential debuff transfer seems not optimal. Big fan by the way, no hate!
