What I enjoy most about your videos, in comparison to other videos that focus on the "orange stuff", is the context and broader view that you provide. It will be great to see the before and after videos that you mention are coming. Thanks for telling the story! 🙂

@@kevinwebster7868 I have seen some of those channels from geologists. They explain the geologic context very well and I enjoy that. I appreciate the non-technical point of view in this channel, including the social aspects and the larger context of Iceland as a whole. In some sense none of it is better or worse, it's just what I like and what touches me. Best regards 🙂

The 'orange stuff' truly is mesmerising, but as you say, without context, it's just pretty pictures. For that, I come here. History itself loses context, if there is nobody there to record it. For that, we all thank you. The colour and light in that last shot are truly stunning.

Good morning Gylfi and Internet community Iceland ;-) I am always fascinated by the variety of landscapes in Iceland that you show us Gylfi. Hi Beautiful, thank you again. What I love about Isak’s videos is I see how it flows and cones formed etc. It’s perfect for geology studies. What I love about yours is yours is the documentary of history of the before and after of each eruptions and how the environment changes, the fauna changes, people change, and infrastructure changes etc. You and Isak do important works in your field of videography and you both honor your country and people and history. There are so many taking real time volcano eruptions, but there is only one videographer documentary/historian and that’s you Gylfi. Love and blessings, Sandy in Far Northern California.

Another great update. Thanks for including all those views of the fissures and faults north of this latest eruption. That is an excellent portrayal of the plate boundary processes that make Iceland different from other volcanic hotspots like Hawaii that are not on plate boundaries. My only complaint is that you showed your nice schematic view of the magma chambers at depth for too short of a time in this video. I have to rewind it to see it again.

I love your filming of large areas shot from high altitude. Your videos show how the landscape looks before and after. I'm no fan of those filming the orange stuff close up with no context to the landscape around the volcano, not even filming where the lave is heading or how far it is from infrastructure. Your videos on the other hand are quite informative and of high quality. Greetings from Norway 🙂

Thank you once again, Gylfi, for your incredible video imagery and thoughtful analysis. It's amazing to see the vastness of the area that has now become covered with fresh lava since last November, but good to know the current flows are expanding to the north - and away from both Grindavik and the Blue Lagoon and its associated power plant. It's more than a little disconcerting, though, to look at all the magnificent highlands in your videos, and to realize that these current eruptions, though frightfully impressive on a human time scale, must be miniscule in comparison with those that have occurred in the geologic past!

In this video, I particularly am fascinated by the point from 7:53 until the end, what a beautiful landscape! Can I ask where in Iceland is this and what forces, or combination of such, created such splendor? Around what height did you take that drone footage? I have so many questions 🤔 I used to love hiking and exploring nature, but spinal stenosis prevents me from seeing these wonders up close and personal as I would like.
