I have the 2021 Arteon SEL Premium R line with all the bells and whistles. Comparsion should have been on that model. It's a very enjoyable ride. Unless you've driven the Arteon you have no idea by site the capabilities of this car. At a $40000 difference I put my money on the Arteon and a down-payment on a house. Can you say win-win. Enough said. Thank you Volkswagen. I absolutely love my Arteon.

That was a good down-to-earth comparison, but you were not comparing the correct vehicles/versions. I mean, you started with cars in 2 different classes, then you chose an Arteon without things that would have indeed made it more comparible (and a bit more expensive). OK, I have not seen the U.S. version (I drive a German version in Germany). But I have 19-inch wheels that outshine those Audi rims and make the car look much better, Then then the instrument display - mine is like the Audis and is ultimately configurable; so why did you choose a lower-level comparison there? Your Audi is pretty well full up, the VW not. Next time, try to at least get the same levels and then tell us (again) about how the Audi is the better car if you ignore price, because of course it still will be.... but the end result will be more fairly closer than it is here.

APR Stage 1 (low torque) gives Arteon the power it should have come with. Very driveable 359 hp and 349 tq. All for $800 - quite possible the best deal in this universe. And agree with the other comments. This car compares more with the A5. What customer is comparing this to the A7?? I'm shopping this with the Stinger and A5/S5.

They need to kick the HP of the top trim Arteon to 300-320. The new golf R is rumored to have 330 or so hp. It’ll be slower than the performance vehicle, but also offers decent power still.

Arteon hell yes......bit more aggressive front end and just as luxurious I'd say. Give or take a bit on the engine but remember......torque gets you going ,horsepower keeps you moving. For double the price.....sorry audi. 10 or 15 gran difference most likely but no way....not doubling it. 100 k is almost closing in on a Bentley or rolls at near 200 but audi are pretty damn fast... ..they can probably beat hellcat dodge although dodge is not really built for luxury.

Juan Camilo Sarmiento Franco I have an Arteon here in Europe. The reliability of Volkswagen is very good, I would say that it’s similar to Audi. In my opinion, VW Arteon is a really good alternative to Audi A7 with a much better quality/price and similar specs overall.

I actually prefer the VW’s interior. If you like all stupid LCDs that can’t be operated while in motion, and are all about gimmicks, go for Audi’s cheap 2 LCD implementation. VW allows muscle memory to quickly change climate and other features. This reviewer is easily influenced by gimmicks.

A5 tech specs: H: 54.6 L: 186.3 WB: 111.2 HP: 248 T: 273 Arteon H: 56.5 L: 191.4 WB: 111.9 HP: 268 T: 258 All specs from their official websites. The A5 is a closer comparison and price range to a full spec Arteon or you actually have a better chance of building them closer than the A7. If that what they want to compare, that's cool, but it would have been more interesting if they would have done the A5.

In 2008 the CC was created to beat Mercedes-Benz CLS ! The best 4-door coupe in the class at the moment is Arteon and it is also very expensive ! A8 and EU spec Passat owner here (EU Passat has the same interior as the Arteon) I can tell you that the interior of the Arteon does not feel cheap, for the class of car it actually feels very premium; really not far off an Audi in places. The VW is less fun to drive but its just as comfortable and not much noisier inside than my Audi which surprised me.
