keep up the great videos man! you should really think about doing a aftermarket skid plate on your car. I recently banged my stock oil pan and cracked it. i just installed the orisis evolution skid plate on my tdi and all i can say is WOW. its such an amazing upgrade.

At 5:48 I heard it's a warm air intake to help warm up the engine faster in the winter

Question, could a dirty air filter cause rough idle and stalling while idled for a few minutes?

It has to be very dirty and affecting the air flow. I would throw in a clean air filter to see if it's going to help but I don't think that is your problem.

If it is a diesel chances are it is your fuel filter.

Interesting that little part that u guys We’re just wondering what it was , I was just wondering the same thing today as I inspected the filter -did you ever find out what it was and do you know if yours is tightly secured to the opening mine looks like it’s not totally secure but I wonder if it’s normal to be that way when the engine is off or if it needs a tightening ?

The airbox should be "sealed" when tightened.

and you should have done the k&n drop in filter. i did it on mine. just clean it and put it back in. no more paper filter

I've heard issues with the oil from the filter material in regards to those.

If they're oiled, be careful.

The oil from those filters can mess up your MAF sensor, be careful.

Much safer to run dry filters on modern MAF cars.

Having to loosen 8 screws to change a filter when, for decades, darn near every car's filter was changed with a thumb and a forefinger is pretty stupid. I know I own one.

If you think that’s a chore (and I agree that it is) try replacing the cabin air filter in a 2014 VW JSW. You’ll be screaming profanities that can be heard from the Space Shuttle.
