The amount of inspiration/design cues from other manufacturers intrigues me.

Good museum of Volkswagon cars. VW models i have never seen before. I'm in my sixties now, and my father owned a VW Kombi van in the 1960s. We were a large family of six children, so we needed a sizable vechile. I live in New Zealand and we assembled the VW Golf. I remember visiting a car show in 1974, and it was on display as the new look Volkswagon. I liked the 1970s VW Passat which was released on our car market in limited numbers. The Sporty VW Scirocco was nice too. Thanks for this interesting video.

1 Jetta ? It always amazes me how little acknowledgment is given to the Jetta in the classic circles. I had an '89 Gti MK2 and drove to an average sized VW car meet (as a visitor) in England years back. My car, in the carpark, was the only one there.

VW Student concept looked even better than any of the new ID EVs' they have now. Futura concept could have been a boxy Toyota Corolla Sera competitor. Base standard model Volkkswagen cars (steel rims w/or w/out hub caps and spartan cabin) looked the best for me.

I appreciate your sharing, but one note of criticism: @1:00 right when we thought you were going into the back end of that beautiful and rare split window VW you do a vertigo-inducing pan to the mundane and uninteresting 1987 Golf. btw, I loved the @13:16 Brazilian SP2 and some of the odd fiberglass mods @2:25, @3:30 etc. Regardless, your video was certainly good enough to make we want to see the VW museum for myself.

In the end it's all a matterof taste, isnt it? So the mentioned Beetle - it's a car that never really attrected to me - while a Golf MKII is more interesting to me ;) The Museum is really worth a visit, but the cars on display are always a bit changing.

Amazing and big collection, but cannot come close to the arrangement and space of the Mercedes Museum. It more looks like a warehouse than a proper, well-conceived museum
@petrolpunx Жыл бұрын
So I've seen both - but I have to say, the VW Collection is a little bit more interesting, because of the many concept cars in there. But having that said, the Merc museum is definetly wort a visit.

@@petrolpunx Thanks for the advice, I will def visit the VW Museum! There r not enough concept cars displayed in the Merc Museum
@petrolpunx Жыл бұрын
@@anemeth9281 so if you are in Wolfsburg, there are two Volkswagen Museums. There is the one at the Autostadt, which is interesting, with a more general historic approach on cars in general. But if you deep into cars, it can be a little bit boring. This is the Stiftung Museum, and it's fantastic. Also not that packed with people as the Autostadt.

@@petrolpunx The way you filmed your visited to the VW museum is like a person who goes for the first time, and doesn't know what to film or where to go. Very strange for someone who claims to visited the place one or two times before.

Okay, so we might have different ideas about what a "complete walkaround" should look like, so I don't comment about that. But here are some top tips mate. First: Follow me on Instagram and look for the hashtag #VWPrototypes - there you find detailed pictures and written bits about my favourite cars from that collection. Don't be irritated though, the cars there are different, some on other positions, cause the collection at the Museum is always a bit changing. Most pictures are from my first and second visit (whatever you might think about this, couldn't care less). Next tip: If you are ever in Wolfsburg, don't waste your time at the Autostadt Museum. The Stiftung Museum is far more interesting. Anyways...
