Highly requested video from you guys. We compare 0-60 times from my stock tune to Kerma TDI tune on my Jetta Sportwagen. The tune makes a considerable difference ! I wasn’t pushing the car too hard wasn’t fully launching it etc. plus I have a trunk full of tools with roof racks and roof box. You may see better results but they speak for themselves ! Enjoy !

If you have a DSG you'll need a DSG tune. Or else you won't feel much of a difference because the DSG is very torque limited stock tune.
@Clodrock
@Clodrock 2 жыл бұрын
@@justinbeamon6624 Yup. Bought the DSG tune with $100 off. There's a 4-8 week delay at Kerma for the tool/dongle so that will get done as soon they make it available to me. Got the A3 TDI flashed yesterday and the thing is a beast! You're wrong about not feeling much of a difference from stock. My buddy clocked me from 0-60 at about 7.5 seconds and this was easing the throttle in first to avoid massive wheelspin.I felt a tremendous difference without the measurements. The DSG does feel clunky and it will only get better in refinement and probably acceleration after the DSG tune.

I have the DSG version of this car. The Kerma Stage 1 tune is an EXCELLENT upgrade for this car. I loved everything about the car, but I could tell the motor was hamstrung. This tune makes the motor perform the way it was meant to, while passing emissions, and requiring no deletes. I consider this a safety upgrade, as more than once the turbo lag of the stock tune put me in a less than safe position. Now she has plenty of get up and go anywhere from 0-75mph, and an acceptable amount of pull thereafter. Off the line she's a monster now, if you can keep the tires glued. I'm told the Kerma DSG tune helps with this, but so far I've not felt the need to go that route. I've lost a couple of miles per gallon, but overall still averaging in the high 30s to mid 40s, which is hardly something I can complain about. Highly recommended.

I have the Kerma tune, I love it! My car is a 2013 Golf TDI DSG, everything else is stock. With the stock tune I was getting around 36-38mpg and was none too happy about that. The 2013 Jetta TDI I had previously, totally stock, got 40.1mpg over the 25k miles I owned it. I sold it back to VW during the 'dieselgate' scandal. With the Kerma tune I'm getting 43-45mpg, with a one time best of 51.1mpg. On that best mpg I fueled up in Ely Nv and heading to Yuma Az, so Ely is at 6600' altitude and mostly downhill from Ely to Yuma. Might have had a tailwind too. While the Kerma tune has given me a big jump in performance, as noted from this video, it's the economic factor that I love about it. It's nice that you get a very noticeable performance boost, a bonus if you will. You WILL notice the difference. Best of all, each time I need to service the car at VW, I just load the stock tune. I don't want to void the warranty, which is good for another 50k miles VW can't tell I've reprogrammed the ECM. I'm also seeing less wasting of fuel from the regeneration process that clears the DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) which is a big hit in the fuel mileage with the stock tune. The car was regenning much more frequently, some times as soon as 100 miles between regens. VW should have put a regen light on the instrument panel. A big fail IMO. So if your TDI CR (Common Rail) diesel sucks fuel, now you know.

I have a 2015 Passat that I put a Kerma tune on. It’s a 33% power bump, so I was expecting it to feel different, but at only 200hp, nothing crazy. Point of order: I’ve owned a tuned Miata (forced indication) and a tuned WRX STi, so I’ve experienced the differences in other cars. The TDI did feel quicker, but with the lazy throttle (thanks to it being a turbo diesel) and slowish DCG transmission, it only feels passably quick at lower speeds. Don’t get me wrong, it’s MUCH better than stock, but it wasn’t like my other cars. HOWEVER, the seat of the pants feeling only tells part of the story. This car is now a sleeper. Ive reeled in and walked past stock (néw model) WRXs, GTIs, etc.. It’s hilarious when you see them looking at the TDI trunk badge with a frown, wondering what the hell just happened. On a roll, my Passat is very quick from 70-120mph, thanks to its massive torque numbers. So, while the TDI still feels slow-ish compared to a gas motor (thanks to its quiet diesel power delivery), it’s actually much quicker than it feels and will shock people outside a seriously quick car.

It really depends on your dealer.. personally I know some dealers that are super cool and “mod friendly” where as if you upload the stock tune they’ll cover it for you but there are cases with dealers being super anal about it..luckily I always have a few personal friends who work at vw that could help me out god forbid something happened. @Xld3beats 4 жыл бұрын
If emissions are not required in your area and you plan to stay in an area without emissions, I HIGHLY recommend deleting the DPF. Reason being they cost $2000-4000 to replace (other's experiences, not mine... yet) but only about $1000-$1500 to delete. DPFs are designed to die over time. They collect oil ash and it cannot be removed. No matter how nicely you drive/maintain it, it's only a matter of time before you're tossing $3000 for a new DPF. So you can either spend $3K every 5-10 years (depends on how you drive it), or you can spend $1500 one time. Just my $0.02, but if I didn't have to do emissions testing I would delete it in a heartbeat.

Does the Kerma tune void the VW extended warranty? By reverting back to the stock tune, is all evidence of the tune erased so the dealership can't see the tune? Also are you able to pass emissions testing with the tune reverted back to stock? I'm really interested in this product because my 2014 Passat TDi has a ton of turbo lag after the VW emissions fix and the gas mileage has suffered considerably too. It would be nice to be able to stab the throttle without the engine choking on itself momentarily and then abruptly taking off once the turbo kicks in. Thanking you in advance for input.

There was a coil light on all the time and worried it needed new glow plugs right off the bat. I honestly should have bought and just bought the new plugs. I would love a manual but my wife has a hard time driving them these days due to her hip being messed up from an auto accident years ago. Clutch is stock and the car is on its original clutch on the verge of 100k miles (currently 99,890). So it really depends on your driving habits I don’t beat on the car too much.. I haven’t had the clutch slip once. The clutch has get strong and has taken any pull over given to it. If your habits are a bit more aggressive and you’re gonna be putting your foot down continuously then yes it’s possible you may wanna consider an upgraded clutch.. I did see the same video of the 377wtq and it’s a lot haha.. I think depending on your mileage and driving habits will dictate your clutch life. In my situation I fee I can go a long time before upgraded in yours it depends on the way you drive. Personally I think you’ll be fine as long as you aren’t doing hard pulls back to back to back to back and really beating on it

@@DArias I'll admit I do beat on the car a bit more than I really should lol. But I'm just under 130k. At some point I do plan on upgrading everything (clutch, suspension, dpf/egr delete, turbo and so on) but while this is still my daily I'm just trying to find a happy medium. Thanks for the reply man.

Tbh I’ll think you’ll be ok with the stock clutch haha if it’s holding up now no problem idt the time will really change anything unless you really give her hell haha but I don’t blame you it’s hard keeping your foot out of it especially with all the low end torque. Tune it though lol it’s a complete night and day difference

Diego Arias what mileage did you tune at? As in how many miles on the stock clutch with tune?

You recommend the kerma over a stage 2 Malone

If you’re planning to keep stock emissions system I feel Kerma is the best. Now Malone is the best when you start to build up your TDI

@DArias

It does not no. Everything runs normal as it should you’ll only get a CEL if something is wrong. So no worries on that end

Hey good sir, UNLESS you launch and shift at the same rpm in every gear your test reaults are not very valid. Should have used a DSG CAR but I get the point. Do you know if the DSG cars are faster than the manual cars? Also I read VW original cheater tune vs updated legal one the difference was negligible as far as power and mileage IMO.....why risk it for such low gains!!!
@DArias
@DArias 4 жыл бұрын
I can agree with this you do have a point most of the power is low end range anyways so I tried my best to shift around the same rpm also didn’t wanna light the tires up too much to slip the clutch too much to possibly cause any damage since it’s my daily.. the dsg should be faster especially when it’s paired with a TCU tune !

Can you tune multiple cars with the kerma
@DArias

Unfortunately not because it’s vin based so once tuned it’s dedicated to your specific car

I should've waited until the end where you said you didn't have anything else done 😂 I just picked up a '14 JSW TDI w/DSG and I've been looking at doing a tune and exhaust, glad to see you get such an improvement without anything else done to the car!
