Dis assembling the turbo on a 2001 VW jetta ALH TDI. This turbo was very sticky causing the car to overboost. This cleaning brought the turbo back to life! No more overboosting! New turbos can be found here: rebrand.ly/xman

i alredy cleaned 3days ago, but still overboost, and block the vacuum for the boost level control, so my turbo boost gone. What do you think about this?

Why does turbo get so dirty?..its because of oil not changing enough times or because car was not driven in proper rpms? Only city drive and not high speed..thank you for the answear

What size tune did you do? I have a Malone 1.5 with 11mm pump and stock manual injectors.

Jerome Campbell my tuner doesn’t really do the stage game. Just tuned for the mods like you should haha it runs pretty good though

can you put any anti sieze or gease onto the vanes so it doesnt stick together?or not?

Most likely the grease in those products will trap soot and gum it right back up and with the temp it could just burn off that grease leaving behind heavy carbon deposits

is there a way to "fix it" by just taking it out on the highway and performing a good run on 3500-4000rpm ?

someone told me to do that but i don t want to risk it

How often do you have to clean your turbo ?
@austinniemela4 жыл бұрын
Marko fraser just when the car is babied and gets sticky, or it burns oil
@greygtv62 жыл бұрын
The biggest factor would be where, and how it is driven. Slow city driving with a lot of idling in traffic would create more soot. You are burning more diesel/km. Faster, motorway driving would burn less fuel and create less sooty deposit in the turbo. I bought my car and found it would go into limp mode very frequently. As my work commute is a 35 km round trip mainly on the motorway it has cleared up substantially. But I will strip it down when the weather warms and clean it up.

Did you have to do anything special to run that turbo over stock?
@austinniemela4 жыл бұрын
Jerome Campbell you shouldn’t need much! I have injectors, 11mm, tune, smic, piping and 3 bar map!

PCV valve is the culprit ....change it from 60k to 80k ...when it fails oil dumps into the intercooler ..and slowly carbons up the EGR and Turbo ...use a good oil and CHANGE THAT DAMN PCV VALVE !

Is one able to "clean" the turbo on an alh without removing it? I've seen people just open them up and spray oven cleaner in em.

Massive amounts of seafoam and transmission fluid is how we used to do it on a 6.0 powerstroke.which effectively works thensame
