Result! Well done in getting the Crafter back up and running. I’d not heard the joke about the fish market before, but I’ll remember it! Keep them coming…👏👏👏

Great work getting the van back on the road. I'm glad my old Mercedes e320 cdi has a timing chain! Modern timing belts are a lot more difficult. I remember the BL O series engine, the timing belt was so easy to renew, but people didn't and the engine was ruined!

Amazing video. Has given me hope for my own being salvageable after my belt slipped last night (new year eve 🎉) Awsome that you are a fellow steel city bloke and the smiling ivy soundtrack is mint. Wicked band

@@SpecialisedMotorcycleTransport great news on the new music. What cam and rocker set did you go for? Fingers crossed 🤞 for no valve and piston damage

Hi is there a way to confirm the valve are ok before removal the complete head
@SpecialisedMotorcycleTransport2 ай бұрын
It is very unlikely that you'll get valve damage. The camshafts and rockers take all the impact.

Would like to see how to set fuel pump being reset
@SpecialisedMotorcycleTransport2 ай бұрын
You turn the pump until the timing peg holes line up then you put the pin in.

Looking at the internals of this engine it is obviously not received much TLC. When was the last oil change? All the dirt around the timing belt simply has to accelerate wear. Curious to know the mileage on this belt.
@SpecialisedMotorcycleTransportАй бұрын
If you go through our other videos youll see the bottom pulley being changed 60k miles before and the timing belt was changed also. This van has its oil changed once every six weeks as its a main delivery vehicle for a transport company and does 100k per year.
@user-ky7ty3ie1x2 ай бұрын
Does it require complete head cylinder remowal
@SpecialisedMotorcycleTransport2 ай бұрын
No just the valve cover and camshafts.

I did mines recently and now it will start first go in the morning but needs easystart if it’s left off for over 10mins til the following day when it will go no probs again. Changed everything to do with fueling. Injectors tested everything. Any ideas?

Any error codes?
@leeriley2856 Жыл бұрын
@@SpecialisedMotorcycleTransport will re scan and post them. I’m sure there were 3 one was for a heater plug one was the mass air meter (changed that and had it on VAGCOM since to let the van know)and one was for exhaust gas recirculating too high or something like that. My mechanic reckons none would stop it starting the way it is intermittently. I’ll scan it and post again.

Thanks for the response btw

@@leeriley2856 was it doing this before you changed the pulley and belt?
@leeriley2856 Жыл бұрын
@@SpecialisedMotorcycleTransport I’m not sure the pulley was changed tbh. It threw the auxiliary belt which frayed and went behind the crankshaft pulley. This caused it to slip a couple teeth so had to be stripped down and retimed. Was only since this work was done it’s been doing it.

Lucky you could fix it yourself, otherwise it’s probably not worth it? I would imagine you do a lot of miles delivering bikes.
