I'm the former owner of this thing of beauty, and I'm glad I sold her to someone who loves them as much as I did for the past 16 years, well done Jeremy!!! I am unemployed and needed the money to fix my 2002 New Beetle GLS. I could've sold it to just about anyone, but thought of Jeremy and all at Volkswear first because he really cares about beauties like this, ENJOY THE RIDE!!! Ray Jackson

Ray Jackson Good to hear from you Ray. I'm working on another video of the Bus as we speak. The motor has been rebuilt and is now an 1835cc. Transmission was also rebuilt and is now a freeway flier. Wheels have been powder coated and new LT KUMHO tires mounted. I'm in the process of welding up the cut out in the package tray/firewall and then the engine and transmission can go back in. JC.

....and if you truly like Cindy Margolis then go ahead and honk, afterwards go to her website www.cindymargolis.com or her Facebook page at www.Facebook.com/CindyMargolis. I had the good fortune of having been a former classmate of hers in high school back in 1983-84 at the notorious Erik And Joan Erikson Center for Adolescent Advancement in Tarzana, CA, and we both graduated in 1984 and have (somewhat) kept in touch since finding out about her career back in 2002, and she also knows about my career, if you want to find out more on my career as both a musician and as a performer/presenter on BIGHMW TV got to my official site at www.BIGHMW.com, www.Facebook.com/BIGHMW or at www.KZbin.com/BIGHMWOfficial.

I'm the one who used to own her, for 16 years at that, I paid $1,200 for her back in June 2002 and I'm glad that it was a great investment as well as a great ride!!!

Never thought I'd say this about a '63 bus, nice! If you know how to weld you can do anything. I have a neighbor who built a perfect, brand new, '61 convertible, that is 20% larger, on a Dodge pickup chassis, out of steel. A sin for the VW set, but a very cool car. Eventually someone like my neighbor will be making new busses If they aren't now.

I originally bought her for a measly $1,200 back in 2002 from a guy in Chimacum, WA, just a short drive from here in Port Townsend, and she turned out to be a great investment as well as (like) a part of the family to me and Alice when I owned her from then until I sold her to Volkswear in April 2018. I really enjoyed every day I got behind the wheel of her and she was in a lot worse shape before I bought/rescued her back in 2002, I just wish i could've still had both the $$$ and time to finish working on her, most of the work on her was done between when I got her and in early 2006, and then I started to run low on money and my favorite mechanic here, the great Rudi Bahr of Rudi's Beetle Haus, retired and so there were no other VW-specific (Rudi was trained in Wolfsburg by VW themselves) repair shops left, so I tried one other guy here earlier this year (a Volvo guy who shall remain nameless) after the alternator went faulty, but he didn't know how to wire in a turn signal switch, I wanted to do a swap, the switch in mine was the wrong one, a 1966-67-specific (4-way) switch and I wanted to install the correct (1961-65, 3-way) one but he said "too many colored wires, man". nor did he know how to fix the windshield wiper linkage, as one of the arms was loose, yet he (the Volvo guy) surely knew more about his nicotine habit though (didn't he?), and so I had no one else left. The brakes faltered after that so I gave up and sold her to Volkswear, I was in a huge financial bind then and I am still unemployed as I speak. I guess nobody wants to hire people like myself.

@@RayJacksonbighmw yep when my V.w. mechanic quit doing v.w.s I sold mine in 98', he passed away in 2014..and as you know these old guys are dropping like flys and the old guys doing it now learned from these folks..Iv had vw's all my life and there so not an old person like me ride now...whats left shocks my shoes off at what kids buy now for like 10-G;s on up...good thing they have a new term for Unibody rust...they call it patina, and my generation would call it a bucket of what it really is s*** that the junk yard would take if you haul it there and hope to git 50 or 75$.
