At this age, gender differences aren't extreme yet since the boys at this age have overcome the early development edge for girls.

i think that the boys don't really have the edge physically in this game. when it comes it comes to raw height girls at this age are usually taller than boys because their puberty starts earlier. so it's actually a very even match

The setter on the girls team needs to work on her setting. Her hands turn outward and that makes her thumbs touch the ball. And she isnt getting squared up with the net, but overall all players were pretty good

Can this be verified as U13 vs U13? Because it seems unlikely that 3 of the boys the same age as the girls would be smaller in height. Unless the boys scouting in the school is really bad and they scout small boys for a sport that needs you to be tall. That being said, both teams are very skilled, so the skill trainer must be really really good.

both teams are from Belgian club Volley Haasrode Leuven. They were U13 at that moment...at that age you can still put boys vs girls, because the power/length of the girls and boys is still comparable. For these teams the girls were relatively tall and most of the boy were still relatively small for their age.

Girls grow faster than boys at younger ages, and boys hit growth spurts around middle school to high school age and surpass girls in size around then

@@clindemeier This is just a biological fact: females begin the puberty earlier so there is a window period around the age of 13 when they are actually bigger than the boys, they can be matched to each other freely... but within a year or two the girls will stop progressing and this is exactly how we arrive to the 15 old high school boy soccer team annihilating the long time unbeatable reigning world champion Team USA female soccer team. And also this is why despite you will find 13 olds' videos on the youtube and find that teams are on par while you won't find any of that at the age of 15 or higher.

They're all a lot better than I will ever be at volleyball by miles. I think the girls are a little older than the boys in this, and I also think they're probably in a higher skilled division, than the boys. The boys look like beginners, compared with the girls movements which are much more coordinated. That makes it a more competitive match for both teams. It's not uncommon in a lot of basketball and volleyball early travel league practice, to have 10 11 and 12 year old boys play 13 14 and 15 year old girls. Otherwise, after that, it just wouldn't be fair, and it wouldn't help either team get better.
