Jump floating is very tricky and requires a lot of time to execute it properly. I remember it took me about 3 weeks to learn. However, in the end it’s very worth it because float serving is one of the deadliest weapons in this sport if performed properly. During my volleyball season, I aced the opposing team 4 times in the first set! And everyone was screaming and hyped up. It was definitely an amazing feeling.

College engineer here, the reason for the difference between a spinning and floating ball is because of the difference in the wake the ball leaves behind. A floating ball has a stationary boundary layer which creates a larger wake that behaves erratically, which is why it randomly goes back and forth, like how a ping pong ball vibrates when you do the thing where you suspend it in a stream of air. A spinning ball keeps the boundary later moving, so the air has more turbulence energy and can form a smaller and more even wake. The topspin direction places the wake higher behind the ball with the air under the ball moving faster than that above it, which sucks the ball downward, like an upside-down airplane wing. Brand new to this channel but really like it and learned from this vid, keep it up!

I’d love to do volleyball, but two reasons I can’t: 1: I’m 4’11 2: there isn’t any teams near me, we don’t have one in school. I’ve dreamed of being a libero since I started looking into the sport, and especially after watching haikyu. But there aren’t any teams openz😂😭😭

Height doesn't matter! It's just easier if you're taller I'm 4'5 and I'm practicing over the summer so I can do it in middle school! It's just a bit harder when you smaller. Trust me, I wish I was taller too 😂

How do I build more upper body strength? I think I have the approach down but it won’t go over the net? 💪💪
@morgankinder18975 жыл бұрын
MackenzieOMG PLAYS What I found most helpful in building upper body strength was weightlifting. Weightlifting made it easier to hit and serve while playing. I usually like to use smaller amounts of weight, but more reps. To build upper body strength, I do high pulls, push press, and RDL’s (A type of deadlift). You can also do pull ups and push ups to gain more strength. Edit: Strength is not the most important part, but can come in handy. A fast arm swing is very important, but I found building strength more efficient because I’m shorter and when I swung fast, it still hit the net. I was not able to get my serve over until I started weightlifting. Hope this helped💕
