another historical battle. historical battles in total war games are a great way to get used to the mechanics and systems and learn the balancing. they helped a lot for me with 3k when i first started playing. changing/innovating your tactics or playstyle and watching the effect is a really efficient way to improve and learn what works. with this one, you have a good opportunity to learn how to use cavalry and skirmishers in conjunction. heres nagashino, some innovative matchlock deployment that youll definitely find interesting if you liked this one: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pXSbopSnqcetfNk let me know if you like these and i can keep working on the ones that are left in addition to the impossible battles. every historical battle in shogun 2 is an interesting scenario in its own right. some unique situations that never happen in campaign.

Love these shogun historical battles. Any chance you'll do Okehazama as well?

I can't explain how entertaining it is in your vids when you go through Shogun 2 so meticulously and explain every single step in a battle, hell how early you are in the Hattori campaign and how much you achieved in such a short amount of turns fucking baffles me. This shit is the very definition of skill and expertise.

this guy is so good, he makes his own campaigns unenjoyable for himself at turn 20 and becomes dependent on others or self*restrictions to challenge himself in one of the hardest games ever.

Is there a particular reason you prefer to keep moving your ranged units as opposed to turning their fire off (shift + 3 I think)?
@Volound4 жыл бұрын
i dont have a convenient bind for fire at will as i dont think toggling it should be a part of regular play. units should be either firing at will (and not moving) or moving (and not firing) almost all of the time. also i dont use any of the default binds.
@Volound4 жыл бұрын
also i cant believe i forgot to mention - introducing the variable of fire at will state means you are giving yourself additional micro. you introduce the potential micro mistake of having units not firing when they should be. if you simply move/shuffle the unit, you completely remove the possibility of units being accidentally left not firing. people do this all the time.

bows will still shoot even when told not to. typically they fire 'blanks' when you do move orders so they dont kill your units.
@Volound4 жыл бұрын
@@jessemacaspac443 oh yeah thats true. if you disable fire at will you also need to issue stop orders/move them anyway. true.

Have u ever thought of making a banner lord play through on your channel?

i tried it at launch but it crashed every 5m. its not really my kind of game. it doesnt allow for much ambition or creativity in its gameplay.

@@Volound yea true. Only thing I can think of is if you made an elite small group of 10-15 men and tried to take on 50+ man armies

Volound, have you ever played Shadow Tactics, Blades of the Shogun? A different tactical game, but set in the same era. Just wondering. Keep it up with the great videos, thoroughly enjoyable. 🙂
@Volound4 жыл бұрын
nope, never played. i usually play games where im more in control and have more choice. e.g. i played sudden strike which is a very pure RTT and uploaded it to my second channel. also i played dishonored which is an immersive sim which is some of the purest examples of player agency in gaming to date.

id like yo see you use the expanded forts mod cause the fort battles become crazy nice, but maybe a bit unbalanced on the side of the defenders tho, since they got matchlocks and chokepoints
@Volound4 жыл бұрын
definitely sounds interesting and there is possibly a lot of good work done there but if it doesnt have a mainstay in the community then it is not very relatable and hard to justify investing time into learning for the sake of uploading, i would just be casually looking at it in my own time, at best.
