Another historical battle from Shogun 2, and once again played to achieve the impossible. If any of you can win this win less than 300 losses, I'll be impressed and I'll definitely watch it if you upload it. Also.. if you play a game nearly perfectly, you should always be getting a nearly perfect result. That's how you know you're doing it right and that the game works properly. Everything is just as it should be, just right. Perfectly in tune and in balance. I mentioned my Tokugawa campaign project during this, here's the link to that if you're interested and somehow missed it: kzbin.info/aero/PLlmEEm6A0j5BWNy6eW5kOzrCYZjDcgazE Hopefully you liked this one, and if you're a fan of Shogun 2 but haven't played this battle yet, I recommend it. As I said in the video, it's a perfect standardised, relatable challenge. A gameplay prowess benchmark.

I might be a minority but I always loved Total War's historical battles, and Shogun II hands down had some of the best. I wish they would do something like they did with Fall of the Samurai's battles, where you had a collection of historical battles covering a single campaign/war in chronological order.

Always love the different ways you manage to dismantle these battles. Shogun 2 is so good it's a shame I didn't see any of it's uniqueness and polish sooner. A game from 2011 that looks better in aesthetic and art style still holds up a decade later, and I'm willing to bet decades more.

I came here after seeing a 2015 video of dishonored, and lemme tell you: you got a new subscriber although I never played a total war game, I really enjoy watching them, I just appreciate the "real time" strategy involved and, in some of the games, the economics behind it, too (looking at you warhammer II, the first total war game I've seen), I really enjoy, too, the japanese style of shogun 2, so, for one of the first videos I've seen from you, it was a great first impression

My favorite part was all of that, but with Oda sending nothing but his cavalry into the enemy's blob.

I remember this being my first historical battle in shogun 2 and for some reason, I thought it was going to be the easiest. However, after the river fight, I only had 3 units left including Ieyasu.

I thought the battles from Shogun 2 were 19th century. I haven't played any of these games but wikipedia says " The game explores the conflict between the Imperial throne and the last Shogun around the time of the Boshin War in 19th-century Japan, 300 years after the events of the original game"

You make this look so easy. My problem with this battle was I take too long defeating the initial army on the left that by the time I flank the right army the Oda army is nearly gone

Well done! 'Breaking' the game by mucking around is always fun. Also is it just me, or do the Kisho Ninja throw their bombs with more strength and velocity than other games with slingers?

What I always found a bit broken about kisho ninja, was that when they use blinding grenades, no matter what units they are, and no matter how many units there are, the blinding grenades will always chain to effect ALL of the units, as long as the men are within about 10 feet of each other. So if you have your lines set up, as many as 40 units would get the debuff, and the 40th unit could be affected when they‘re however far away, as long as the units are generally close to each other. If we’re counting an opposing army(ies), that’s up to 80+ units. I don‘t think it was ever patched, but it seemed insane to me that the effect could go across an entire field and affect that many units. Otherwise props to you Volound, you make Total War understandable and enjoyable. Keep on pushing brother.

I don't think the historical battles are entirely accurate. Because Ishida Mitsunari actually lost against tokugawa Ieyasu in the battle of Sekigahara, but it is cool to see if there was a way he could still win.
