I have one of these on the way, glad it looks like an easy build. I honestly don't even need this (I have a perfectly functional Nite Radian), but couldn't resist when I saw the price. I also ordered a telemetry receiver with variometer and some other functions. I was always a sport flyer and didn't anticipate how much I'd enjoy sailplanes. You might find yourself flying this a lot!

Hey John, thanks for another great video. FYI, I decided to order one last night, Banggood was showing $109.99 for the glider with $17.55 for shipping to Tenn., with glider in the cart, I go to checkout and the total jumped to almost $160.00, (should have been $127.54 by my calculation) shipping cost had increased. I'm not sure what the deal was but at that point I just canceled the order. This was my first trip to Banggood and after this questionable pricing, I'm not sure I'll go back. I just double checked and the "sale price" is no longer available, but the shipping cost still shows $17.55, and only one in stock as of 4:45 cst this morning.

Had the same thing happen to me on the last plane I was going to order. Ended up being a deal breaker.
@RCVideoReviews4 жыл бұрын
That was a flash sale--I don't know why they would have kept the $109 price advertised if the flash sale was over. I'll go check now and see what it says.
@RCVideoReviews4 жыл бұрын
Did you check to make sure it was coming from the US warehouse because right now it looks like they're out of stock in the US warehouse and the flash price is over. The only option is a China warehouse order and the price is $155. I'm not trying to defend them, but this seems like a glitch more than an attempt to deceive.
@tnrcpilot68954 жыл бұрын
RC Video Reviews John, at the time I was placing the order (11:00 pm last night) there was 4 hrs and some odd minutes remaining on the "flash sale" and 4 planes in stock in the US warehouse. I'm not upset, just a little disappointed, all is good...

@deancooper55134 жыл бұрын
nice one John, the Volantex kits are really well put together but their motors are known to be a little underwhelming, I've seen a few ASW-28s with bigger motors to help keep motor heat down and for longer flight times. The plastic motor mount will melt if the motor gets really hot, I melted my plastic mount on my Volantex Phoenix 1600 glider with my EMAX 2215/09 motor running 3S and I wasn't really pushing the plane hard. In extreme cases I've heard people melted the actual nose of the fuselage too, but I've not experienced this myself. I replaced my motor mount with a plywood mount I made and since then I've had zero issues. This is where airflow over the motor is important! You might want to run a vario Rx in that plane too, so you can hunt for thermals by sound, although I suspect you'll notice when u catch one with that bird.
@RCVideoReviews4 жыл бұрын
I ordered a FrSky G-RX8 which has a built-in vario. I wonder if isolating the metal mount from the plastic would also do the job of protecting the nose from melting. Appreciate the tips. I will pay attention to that front end.

Just Maidened my Voltanex ASW28 today, Flew great, so scary since its so big haha. It does like to keep its speed up and it took me a second to balance my Gyro for gliding. I gotta say I normally wouldn't complain about the airelons but they do seem to need a little more impact on the plane, Mostly for my gyro to stablize faster. But besides that the plane is awesome!! ALSO the canopy will 100% break so just start with tape not even the plastic screws. Great video my dude
@RCVideoReviews4 жыл бұрын
Thank you. Did you try mixing in some flaps with your ailerons to help with the control authority? One of our subscribers--Jorge--does that. I take it the maiden ended well?
@FreeEditsForYou4 жыл бұрын
@@RCVideoReviews I am planning on doing that for sure, just need to pickup someone servo extensions then setup the mix and I should be good. Im more thinking of hot glueing some extra foam or hard paper material for more surface area on the ailerons. We will see what works, for now just glad to see it fly it is so majestical watching it float on a wire going past, so smooth and that amazing sound

Hey John. I have this glider. 2 things to note, I hope you address them. First, the canopy and attachment is a little cheap. Cracks easily and will come off in flight. Second, I'm having trouble with CG. Mine is really tail heavy. Any ideas on how to fix that without having to add a lot of weight? Hope you enjoy it.
@RCVideoReviews4 жыл бұрын
I've been wondering about that canopy since I opened it. Have you checked-in with google to see if there's a fix for the canopy yet? When it comes to balance there are limited options. Most of them have to do with shifting weight around. Tail heavy is difficult because of that super long tail moment on this plane--it's a big lever. Maybe that's why they made the cockpit so heavy on this plane. If you shift everything forward and still can't get it to balance, the only two options left are remove weight from the back or add it to the front.

@@RCVideoReviews the thing is. I have a bixler on arduplane. Its a beater plane as iam slowly making it fly. The plane is actually really good and i improved a bit the aero as its a ver chunky model made to last. And its flying very good actually. But when the sistem is perfect i will look for another plane. The point is to make the longest fligths possible at a reasonable speed. The best i've seen is the my twin dream. But its too expensive.
