Your clear lectures have helped me to create a wonderful fog. Thank you so much.

this tutorial I find to be the best fog tutorial I've found, I have gotten the best results from this. I find if I change the max particle size to 3 it looks even better. it does work in unity 6 URP without any changes needed
@SparkyRiver Жыл бұрын
thank you so much for the resource!!! its working perfectly in my vrchat world on a forest battlefield, and it looks amazing! way better than the base unity fog, and i can actually turn it off in game with the press of a button!

Thanks! This is the way to go for mobile. Might not get the exact effect you want (as alternative to a shader or unity fog)but the performance improvement wins easily.

great gem content mate. was nearly about to buy a fog plugin for 15$, but you saved me from that big times
@RobLang2 жыл бұрын
Great technique but I wouldn't call it volumetric because the fog isn't effected by light. That makes it textured fog - not volumetric. If you were on HDRP with VFX Graph then you can use a lit quad and that would then volumetric fog (although low quality). There are unity assets that do volumetric fog on URP but they are expensive in terms of frame budget. Thanks for sharing!
@TunyacsapHofi2 жыл бұрын
Same reason why i was looking for some particle based solution, URP+ShaderGraph solutions like kzbin.info/www/bejne/g3iQp2l-lKaWrpo are also to expensive on per-frame basis unfortunately :( (BTW, I guess in this example you can easily could change the used "Mobile/Particles/Alpha blended" shader to get these particles effected by lights e.g. using URP simply choose "URP/2D/Sprite-Lit-default")
@TunyacsapHofi2 жыл бұрын
just for the record, in my case this solution is even worth performing than the shader graph version unfortunately :(

is there a way to do this where its equally spread across a mesh? trying to make a fog-box with a custom mesh shape and its all patchy
@Invalourrr-vb3xo3 жыл бұрын
You just need to increase the particle spawn rate if your working with larger surface areas, that or scale the emitter itself.
@adriansantiago83132 жыл бұрын
Larger areas means u might need more particles therefore ur fps may drop if you have tons of particles
@KingEngine972 жыл бұрын
Hey ,I would have liked if you explained more of the options of the particle-system one can play around with, but it is not hard to just go & try it out myself :D Also, is there way to make Volumetric Fog? (Fog that is more sticky to structures / hazy Fog) Also, if i want some butterflies flying around in a spheric shape (lets say somewhere in a forest), is it possible to replace the individual Particles with low-poly .obj models that have a few frames offlying animation rig, so you can see the Butterflies dancling around? Still, this video gave me good hopes to create atmospheric scenery, really good tutorial!

You should avoid this methods, it will cause your performance to tank quite hard due to overdraw, use custom HLSL shaders or fullscreen post process instead or any asset store that does it
