I’ll see this if Viggo is in it. He chooses complex intelligent roles and performs them to perfection.

Somehow, in 2024, westerns have made a comeback, and seem like the only good movies being made.

What a mess. Hollywood doesn’t have a clue and can’t seem to understand how to buy one. One of the opening scenes shows Mortensen burying his wife next to his well. We are doomed as a species

If Hollywood isn't pushing an agenda - it's about making money. I vastly prefer it when it's about making money. You have stars like Tom Hanks that keep making movies and they keep selling. If you look at _Greyhound_ Hanks is the same age as Admiral Halsey was and far to old to be commanding a Convoy Escort Formation. .

"Deconstructing Western" sounds almost as bad as "for modern audiences". I really, really hope they mean it in a sense that it does not use common tropes. Instead of making it lame and feminist, which it often means today.

The talent pool for young and rugged looking male actors must be pretty low to be dragging out 70 year olds like Viggo and Kevin to star in these Westerns. Either that or maybe they won’t give them up?
@rcdubya6 ай бұрын
Viggo wrote and directed this. You write and direct a movie, and you can select whomever…
@Nada114886 ай бұрын
@@rcdubya so they aren’t giving them up. Like Stallone. I can access my willing suspension of disbelief as much as the next audience member, but the geriatric action star tropes are getting, dare I say, old.

Can you actually name any young and rugged looking male actors? Today’s younger men mostly look weak and feminine. We really don’t have modern equivalents of actors like Steve McQueen, Charlton Heston, Charles Bronson, Clint Eastwood, Lee Van Cleef etc so I for one am perfectly happy that Viggo, Stallone, Cruise, Costner etc are still in the game.
@Nada114886 ай бұрын
@@Carfilliot I think you’re right but I think that has more to do with the movie industry’s quest to destroy masculinity, particularly in white men. They’re probably some young men actors that have the look, but they don’t get cast because their appearance is ‘toxic’.
