Lynyrd Skynyrd - I Know A Little - Volunteer Jam XIII

Lynyrd Skynyrd reunites at Volunteer Jam XIII, ten years after the tragic plane crash which claimed the lives of both pilots, guitar player Steve Gaines, his sister Cassie (one of the Honkettes), roadie Dean Kilpatrick and lead singer, Ronnie Van Zant. Here they performing "I Know a Little".

Seeing these three great guitarists struggle with the lead parts to this shows the guitar genius of Steve Gaines. He was definitely the future of Skynyrd.

+Winston Tucker I read cpmments recently where Ed King was talking about Steve Gaines awesome talent and ability as a guitarist. He said that there are things that Steve played that nobody can do not even himself or Rossington. Steve had these HUGE hands and he knew the fretboard like the back of his hand. Those pull-off arpeggios were his trademark. Such a talent and such a loss.

Ed event admitted that he had to change Steve’s parts because he struggled to duplicate them. Steve Gaine’s untimely death is one of the biggest tragedies and greatest losses to the world in music history.

I'll never forget October, 1987. For a huge Lynyrd Skynyrd fan that never got to see the original band, that month was pure magic. Saw them in Pittsburgh, PA on October 4 and then 15 days later in Charlotte, NC on the 19th.
