I've bought a volvo 240 with these type of coilovers. Its lowered all the way down now. So when you turn the vehicle, it makes a nasty sound when the springs are loose and going against the steel. He said if i took it up like 2cm maybe it would tighten the springs and the sound would probably be gone. Sorry bad explanation but i tried. Have you ever heard of that? :-) Great video by the way.. Love it :-D

Cut Springs is not a bad idea tho. work just as good as what you bought. To each his own.

The added camber adjustment is nice and adjusting damping over being stuck with a stiffer ride the lower you go.

whats the situation on the racing steelies? if you ran -12offset on the front like the back wheels would that eliminate the need for 8mm spacers on the front?

The reason for running the spacers is because the wheels dont clear the calipers.

Great video. I installed the exact kit on my 242GT. Did you find that the rears are little hard and bouncy? The rear wheel on mine tends top at turns or over bumps.

When they were first installed that were quite stuff. Then they seemed to lose all dampening. I turned the dampening to full stiff and the ride seems to be bouncy after that.

How many spirals were cut on the old springs?

I don't remember exactly how much because I cut them a few times, but the front springs were 10 inches in length uncompressed and the rears were 13 inch uncompressed. The shocks were also totally blown too 😅
