Hey man. I just finish bolting up a 4 cylinder t5 to my 240 an hour ago. I was running a v8 t5 but am switching to the 4 cyl. For the better gear ratios (the v8 t5 5th gear is way to tall for a redblock) I cut down the factory 4 cyl. Bearing retainer like you did but ran into a problem - the retainer hits the bell housing preventing from being bolted down completely. Had to use a sanding disc to slightly grind down the area at the base of where the through out bearing snout used to be and a little off the two little oil return ridges. Also if you run into a pilot bearing issue a Dorman 14672 works perfect

Yes correct calvin. I had to also grind down the transmission side of the bell housing to accept the mustang retainer. I'll post a drive video later today

I'm actually liking the original bearing retainer setup trimmed down, it's steel unlike the Deeworks one. You should be able to use the stock Volvo pilot bearing with that setup as well. Looking forward to a test drive and the noise level, my WC T5 is like a box of rocks at lower speeds and it was completely rebuilt!
