The Volvo push notification Tuesday afternoon was probably one of the best I've had in months, this was a big part of the reason we traded our Model 3 in on a certified XC40 Recharge. Immediately jumped on to the A2Z site after seeing the Volvo part wait times, the cumbersome dealer order experience with no online option to pick the adapter up, and that it would just be the generic Tesla adapter going by what was shown on the Polestar site. Looking forward to taking the Supercharger on a test drive when the adapter arrives!

I typically attach the adapter first and then plug it into the vehicle - not the way I did it in this video. It really doesn't matter. I have been watching your channel for a while now and think its great. I've been on the EV fence because I want a car with NACS connector. I feel buying a car with a CCS1 adapter is like buying something with obsolete technology. Since charging a major function/feature an EV, a car with native NACS may offer higher or faster charging time. My first choice at present is a Polestar 2. Having to wait to till 2025 or 2026 is a long time, but with each years improvement in range and features I'm willing to wait. I don't think it should take this long. What's your thought?
@ralstm1Ай бұрын
I was likewise looking forward to a Volvo with a NACS charging port. But I now realize that I will always need to carry an adapter. Even after the changeover. Because I may occasionally have a need to "go back to" a CCS charger, if that is more convenient on a road trip. In the evolving "Charging Standard" shake-out, I will still want to be able to charge at either Tesla superchargers or the widely-available CCS1 chargers that still exist, and will exist for many years. Another great video, Tom.

This leaves Hyundai/Kia as the last to receive Supercharger access doesn’t it? And last I heard, only 2024 and newer model Hyundais and Kias will have access to the Supercharger network, meaning my 2022 Ioniq 5 will not be able to charge at those Superchargers. I think that is not fair, but on the other hand, Superchargers are rare as hen’s teeth out here in the middle of the country, only located on Interstates with gaps of 250 miles in between those sites and Interstate highways. There is only one Supercharger site here in Oklahoma in the entire western half of the state and it is only a V2 which non-Teslas cannot charge at at all. So Supercharger access really doesn’t mean a lot to me, but I wish it did.
