I’m wondering if a hot water treatment would help in loosing the spring and valve without taken the assembly apart? 😅

Where can I see the other video about EGR valve removal, that you are mentioning 🤔
@southwesttransport4753 Жыл бұрын
I never edited the footage. Never posted it. There is someone who produced another video that helped me. Search d13 egr removal. After doing this a few times it is I just take the airbox off. If I have the equipment I would also remove the front tire, depending on what work you are doing. Also, buy a new gasket when you put it back together. $65 at Volvo. My old gasket leaked and I had to do another complicated pressure test to find the gasket leak. This test included booting both sides of the turbo. One time I took the turbo off and built a plate to cover the manifold. That way I guaranteed that no air was leaving the system from the turbo. I still got a fair bit of loss past the rings. This was at 45 psi. The air will come out of block hole where the turbo’s oil drain pipe attaches.

Is there a seal kit available for the valve? Would you be able to supply the part number or numbers? Where do I find your other videos?
@southwesttransport47532 жыл бұрын
I looked for a seal kit briefly on google. No luck. Someone out there knows where to get the parts. I have not loaded any other videos as of (2/9/2022)

How difficult to do this without removing the turbo?
@southwesttransport47532 жыл бұрын
Remove the air box. Remove the first exhaust piping off of the turbo. You will now have room to work. The egr valve is not connected to the turbo. No need to remove the turbo. Removing the egr valve can have its own complications. There is a video from someone else of what they do to make it easier if you run into stuck fittings.

@@southwesttransport4753 Thanks for the reply! I poked around there a bit today and figured as much as you're suggesting. I've got a 2013 day cab and the engine is set pretty far under the cab, so for that section I'll probably remove the inner fender and tire to get a bit more wiggle room .

Is egr software delete a hood idea ?
@southwesttransport4753 Жыл бұрын
Right now I am testing a different form of “delete”. Unplug the temp sensor on the crossover tube on the passenger side. Throws an engine code. Apparently it doesn’t open the egr valve. Truck has been running great for 6 months. It doesn’t regen more than it did. However, just last week the fireball on the dash stopped coming on. No parked regen. Filters are clean. Truck is running great. If anyone has insight on this let me know.

I replaced egr valve on Volvo d13 2020 year at 230k miles, now at 330k miles I get the same code P0401 for egr valve. Looks like I’ll need to replace another one, smh 🤦
@southwesttransport47532 жыл бұрын
Repeated failures of the egr valve is pointing to another problem. How dirty was the first one when it was removed? Do you know why it failed?
@KalchykDen2 жыл бұрын
@@southwesttransport4753 it wasn’t dirty at all. I’m not sure why it failed but before replacing egr valve I checked everything PTT software told me to, cleaned Venturi Pipe and even replaced delta P sensor on Venturi pipe. After that removed and checked egr cooler and checked for leaks and also cleaned it. After that I replaced EGR valve, performed learn data reset and truck was working as it should. Now 100k miles later I got p0401 message again.

@@KalchykDen Are you running full synthetic oil? Or Dino? What weight?

All you need to do with that code is to clean your Vinturi tube where the Delta pressure sensors seats. Remove stay rectangle sensor, you’ll see two holes under it, clean up those holes with air and carb cleaner. Set sensor back, clear code and see if it’ll return. If not then you good, if yes then unassemble that Venturi tube completely, clean it all inside and from inside check it air or carb cleaner flows through those 2 sensor holes. If after all efforts you’ve failed to clean both holes, means that carb inside them became to a concrete. Go find used Venturi tube with clean holes, install and your problem solved.

Great video;When you rpm waves means EGR needs to be changed They make that part in Syracuse NY; I thought solenoid gets weak; will play with mine
