I’m not losing antifreeze but I’m losing power when go uphill. Can it be because of bad egr cooler? Dealer found the code “EGR flow excessive detected”.

To me, looks like your EGR valve is not working properly or might be a leak somewhere. There are tests for that that you can do through PTT(Volvo software)

Yeah those are two different things. Don’t replace randomly. If it’s still working fine then don’t need to replace it. If it was never replaced and your truck is around 500k miles and you have money for it then I would replace it so you don’t have to deal with it later.

If truck still under warranty I would take it to dealer. If no warranty then of course you can do it somewhere else

Is that with the part included, or just labor? I can’t tell you the exact cost of the part, because I don’t know how much it would be for your engine but labor is usually between 4 to 6 hours.

It would be better if you called your local dealer, gave them your VIN number, and asked for the price of the part. For an exact replacement cost, I would need to see it in person. Sometimes bolts snap, and other times it goes easy. If everything is perfect, it takes 3 hours; if there are complications, it can take up to 6 hours(shouldn’t be more) and after all it depends on shop rate. Our rate is $95 an hour.
