Autocar (UK) reports owners having serious software problems with their cars: "These issues, owners say, range from screens going black and steering-wheel buttons not responding to cars not charging and even emergency braking systems randomly activating." Not perhaps well-made after all
@Da_StormtroopeR7 күн бұрын
The car is extremely well-made and nice to look at. The driving performance is also good. The main argument for not buying it is the sparse and cost-saving interior.

20 inch rims on a car this small... OMG. My first car, a Honda CRX Si had 14 inch rims. I love this car except for the "main screen do all" approach. In the end it's way too small for a family of 4. It would be great for a single person. Kind of pricey though. 64k CAD for the mid level AWD? That's the price of a top trim VW ID 4 AWD here.

Yes, but Volvo says they are a premium brand :)

@@MarekDrivesENG 😅 I have to say, their esthetic designs, exterior and interior, are top notch. I do love them. In the past I never bought them because of their questionable durability but maybe that's not the case in their EVs. They really need to make the XC40...errrr EX40 and the EX60 dedicated EV platforms.

No one takes a corner at 200km/h... Everybody hits bumps, potholes and bad roads... This is a no brainer for me, smaller rims and more rubber, please.

Volvo have somehow snatched defeat from the jaws of victory with this one. The EX30 seemed to have so much promise when it was announced but it seems that it hasn't quite lived up to it. There's so many design details that I like, but the decision to follow Tesla with the ergonomics and Geely with the ADAS means a no from me. I remember how Volvo was talking about the window switch positioning, 'soundbar' sound system and the lack of a driver's gauge cluster were ways to reduce cost... but why is it still so expensive?
@mickdaly65376 күн бұрын
So put a system that beeps if take eyes off the road AND then put the speedo on main screen so you HAVE to take eyes off road to see speed ????? Now that's good design
@rocketdreamer7 күн бұрын
I think it is well positioned as price point vs specs, need to be intelligent with your choices. Many niggles but all can be amended with the next face-lift. On finance buy it should be competitive. Good product, need to be communicated 2 the market cleverly. Well done Marek😊

Some quirky design choices in the interior and expensive, but I do like the overall design on the exterior.

At last, testing the self parking 👍 not necessarily the most needed feature but it gives an insight into how the tech will work overall, good review … thought I hated it, you confirmed I would 😂
@NemanjaPantelic7 күн бұрын
I completely agree with your conclusion. I like the interior of the Volvo because it is simple, with obvious cost savings, but it is more charming than Tesla's interior with its various fabrics, materials, and colors. Unfortunately, I wouldn't consider the EX30 due to the obscene price. Also, the self-parking feature seems lacking compared to my (old) V90 Cross Country from 2017, which did a much better job. I see a lot of EX30s on the roads, so that's nice, but I'll pass an Electric Volvo (for now).

Food for thought. Do you want this or a full loaded 2 years old XC90. The price is the same.

I can understand accepting a car made in China when not having much money but definitely not in this price range.

I must say that driving through Poland was very… efficient. I rented a BMW 430d Gran Coupe, I’m glad I did, because it kept up with traffic well. And the adaptive cruise worked at Polish motorway speeds. (130 and up, shall we say).

I am sorry for being old but this reminds me of Skoda Favorit from the outside lol. The inside I like very much. If they are cheap as used, may pick one up down the line. At least no one will steal it with those looks.

buy used in 2 years. apparently, ev owners are going back to hybrid and gas. you can probably pick one up at half the price. at that price, you can live with it's shortcomings ... maybe.

I think it’s a very nice looking car but the rear legroom is a bit disappointing, however it’s made in China and probably marketed towards the Chinese who are relatively short. The dash is so basic. I’m not a fan of a tablet controlling everything. I think I’d rather pay extra for an XC40.

Made in China - therefore I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole. Any car I buy has to be made in Europe.
@devil57417 күн бұрын
Volvo has always been distinguished by its elegant design and quality. But China remains China... even for a lot of money... well, they can't make anything high-quality, even with the hands of Europeans... or rather, with their heads)) Apparently, mass production wins over reliability. Super like for the music at the beginning 🎸☺

Cool review. 55000 Euro's for an over gimmicked small car made in China won't cut it for me. The self parking feature is hilarious, - one has to pay a lot of money for. Still waiting for an affordable car without these idiot modes for lame brainers. Probably not in my lifetime.
