A short video of the first startup (cold start) of my new stainless catback from swedish builder Rakaror. It is connected to a BSR Tuning 3" Inch Downpipe with 200 cells sport catalyst.

Car: Volvo S80 2.4T 2001 (also fits 2.5T)
Specs: TD04HL-13T turbo, BSR Tuning 3" Downpipe, ProPerfekt CBV / DV, DO88se Silicone Turbo Intake pipe, DO88.se Silicone Intercooler Hoses, BSR Optiflow kit, Full Stage 0
16T Turbo + Japanifold waiting to be fitted!

It's even better in real life I can assure you. The Japanifold is a must if you enjoy the 5 cilinder noises 😁

The manifold between engine and turbo? I believe I’ll start with the cat back exhaust this year since I’ve got some work on the car over the summer.. So I don’t think it will be that loud with the OEM down pipe. But it should give a bit more deep sound with a little more clear 5 cylinder sound.

@@John-John79 Yeah the manifold. Its better than the "R-manifold" as it doesnt share runners, which is also the cause of the better sounding exhaust. I can highly recommend the 3 inch version. But sound is subjective, so tough choice :) Fyi: with all the modifications I have done so far it makes +-245 BHP calculated from max MAF values. But I want a dyno run to be sure :)

that´s not bad, it´s a nice spot before a ecu map. Mine is with a polestar ecu, so a better exhaust flow would not hurt. But before the downpipe I´ll have the coils+sparkplugs and the injectors changed.how much does the sound change inside the car? cruise and acceralation?

@@John-John79 It does sound throaty in the car, my girlfriend thinks its a tad too loud on WOT. Cruising is alright, the center silencer is critical for not getting too much drone in the car. I especially enjoy driving with the windows open, after the exhaust is heated up properly, then its a party for the ears haha

Do you have any videos taken out on the road or just outside? I’m trying to find some records where it’s possible to hear the exhaust from Rekaror. Can’t figure out if it have to be 2,5 or 3”.. hope you can help or know how there have uploaded some videos with Rekaror

Did you by the downpipe for the S60 2.4T? Because they don't have it as an option for the S80 Gen 1, but I know the enginebay (mounts etc) in the S60 2.4T is almost identical to the S80 Bay, so I always wondered if the downpipe listed for the S60 is a straight bolt-on in the S80 engine bay in regards of fitment.

Correct! I bought this one: jendautoonderdelen.nl/bsr-3-inch-downpipe-met-sportkatalysator-volvo-v70-turbo-benzine-ond-nr-4108711.html . The company doublechecked & verified the fitment on a S80 Gen 1 with BSR before I ordered it . I paid about 650euro's for it (the prices have risen in the meantime). @@NDPhotonl thank you for your thorough reply, that is much appreciated, what numbers did you push with all these bolt ons? I just bsr tuned my own 2.4t and holy moly it's a totally different car, the torque is just delivered whether your like it or not, it really feels like a proper S80 now, but I'm going to continue as planned and buy their exhaust options too because I have a 16T angled waiting on shelf.

@@MrGharDK You're welcome! Right now around 220bhp using the max airflow value of the MAF sensor (177 g/s with 27 celsius IAT). Measured multiple times in 2nd & 3rd gear, last addition was the K&N panel filter, which added around 9bhp (168 g/s without it on multiple measurements with 26 celsius IAT). [edit] The weakpoint of the 2.4T is cooling, so don't overdo it. I believe 270bhp should be safe. The last cilinder has the least cooling, so going too high will give you knock which is disastrous off course.

@@NDPhotonl I appreciate the information, is the oil or coolant that gets too hot? Adding an oil cooler is probably not stupid. 220 interesting considering it's bsr tuned. I wonder if v70 exhaust are similar to the S80

@@MrGharDK Coolant. Please note that I don't have a remap, it's on stock software, purely mods with a healthy "stage 0".

Ik heb een XC90 V8 en wil ook graag een Raka Ror uitlaat.. nu hebben ze een “gewone” en een sportuitlaat, maar die sportversie schijnt mega luid te zijn. Hoe lang duurde het voor je hem had na bestellen?

Hi Wouter, de normale zal waarchijnlijk een extra demper hebben. Die kan je altijd nog eruit laten halen als je hem te mild vind klinken (door een willekeurige uitlaat shop). Heb even in mn mails zitten zoeken, het bestellen en betalen duurde langer dan verzenden en ontvangen. Was echt een kwestie van een paar dagen toen de DHL mn uitlaat kwam brengen. @@kawoutster Dat is altijd lastig idd, al helemaal omdat geluid zo subjectief is (voor de 1 te luid is voor de ander perfect etc etc). En mensen maken gewoon te weinig filmpjes van hun aftermarket uitlaat haha 😂 Dan blijft het gokken voor diegene die nog een keuze moet maken...

I am considering the 2.5" version from rakarör, with my original downpipe, how loud do you think your 3" verison is? I know yours is going to be louder of course since yours is connected to a 3" downpipe

Hard to say as sound is so subjective. But paired with the standard downpipe it will be "classy" I think. The 3" downpipe with 3" rakaror tend to drone sometimes, also its quite loud, which is fine for me, but not always for my missus haha

@@NDPhotonl I can imagine, I think that the 2.5" will be a nice upgrade from stock then.. how did you go about buying from rakaror? I can't seem to find the exact exhaust that I am looking for allthough I can find it on their sister website called alt.avgas somthing
