Hi, thank you for the video. I am losing 1 gallon and half coolant every 180 miles, do you know what’s the issue plz? I already replaced EGR and turbos recently and got brand new head cylinders and gasket a few months back.

If you don't have any visible coolant leaks yes, this can be the problem! You welcome!

What does egr stand for, exhaust gas return?...does your truck have intercooler, I'm not familiar with model, thanks

EGR stands for Exhaust gas recirculation!

Hi Valeriu. If i find what it looks like soot film in coolant reservoir. It means the egr cooler is damaged or the egr valve damaged? Thank you
@valeriumoscalu7580 Жыл бұрын
Is most probably EGR cooler! You can remove the robber hose in front of EGR cooler and look inside! If there is coolant mixed with soot you will see it!

Check the egr cooler if it doesn't have a coolant leak!

@@valeriumoscalu7580 thank you so much for your reply. I don't have any leaks but I just lose coolant everyday.
@valeriumoscalu75802 жыл бұрын
@@solarpluto8600 if you loosing coolant through the egr you will not see it visually because it goes out through the exhaust! You need to remove the air hose in the front of egr and see inside if it's clean or does it have coolant! If not can be because of bad injector caps or the worst case that can be is the cylinder head gasket!

Bun mecanic dar proaste motoare si piesele sunt scumpe si tot timpul cad jos. Detroit 60 series sau Cummins N14 sunt cele mai durabile si cu cele mai mici probleme.

How would you know coolant leak in egr cooler? I am losing one gallon per month. But, when I add it to full level, It loses coolant very easily. Also, road level is very sensitive to measure of coolant. If road is slight upward, coolant level is ok, but if it's horizontal or downward, coolant level gets lower. This can be EGR cooler problem?

Add coolant to the MINIMUM LEVEL, when it's a cold engine in the Coolant Reservoir, to see if you still lose fluid.
@ralphborroel56842 жыл бұрын
To know that you have a coolant leak in Egr Cooler, take off Egr gas Inlet and look inside. If it's wet with COOLANT then your SEALS are broken to the egr cooler side, either the egr cooler fluid inlet or the outlet or both. Get those seals and black plastic tubes replaced, then you will not lose coolant at the egr cooler fluid passage ways. here's one good video of what I'm referring to in replacing those black tubes and seals: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rovWp6SHZtV4psk
