Volvo has one of the most powerful and effective marketing techniques. Hope all other brands knew what consumers really need and then shape their products according to end-user wishes and after all show it proudly. We can clearly see this only happens when Sverige metal and Svensk engineering meets somewhere in Northern Europe. Ladies and Gentleman and others, this is future and it is now. Great to see living in this "shift era". One day Electricity will rule the world beside what it is doing now. If we knew secret of 3, 6, 9 we could decrypt universe though.

This is absurdly outstanding. The larger battery pack probably has around 600v-900ah as well as the motor has minimum 480-720v power, impressive for such demanding weight job. With this expertise acquired, you guys have the potential for developing an all-electric system for future main battle tanks up to 45 tons, think about it. ;)

In my opinion: two battery packs, one on board the tractor and one on board the trailer - solar paneling on the trailer - while you use the pack on board the tractor the one on board the trailer recharges and you just have to switch and re-attach the drive pack to the panels, more: you can also add two trailer wheels to a dynamo that recharges the various battery packs - in short, you can be more daring on trucks :-) - in this way you can go around the world :-) -

I own several diesel semi and I'm interested in electronics but I'm more interested in range, payload capacity, charging speed and charging infrastructure. They might be useful for large companies who can afford to install chargers and have multiple bases but for a company like mine with 5 trucks I wonder what advantages would those trucks bring and I'm more interested in range and charging infrastructure( my trucks do about 650-750 km/day in a mix of flat roads and hills about 40-60). Looking forward for those but I don't like that they omit those details in their commercials

Hi Stef... The number of batteries and their useable energy will be flexible and adapted to the customers operation allowing a range up to 300 km. We have advanced simulation tools that are based on several years of electric vehicles used in commercial traffic. The driving range depends on the number of batteries the trucks have and on a series of external parameters, such as the driving cycle (many stop and go), if the truck has a superstructure which also demands electricity from the batteries, topography, temperatures etc. The truck´s battery packages are specified according to customers need. A good start to find more information is to visit volvotrucks.com and then contact your local Volvo Trucks dealer.

As a Volvo driver and consumer of your products, this is a little misleading regarding zero emissions. As my depot energy prices will increase having to charge the lorries. I have calculated, a larger increase than diesel fuel. I have looked into subsidiaries with solar panels and they don't make financial sense. All you're doing is moving the emissions from the tail pipe to the power plant, this is not ethical.

Generally, the term ”fossil free” is used with regards to energy consumption for transports, but “truly” fossil free means that we need to address the whole value chain as well as the whole life cycle of the truck. This also includes the material from which the truck is made of. We have since many years published information about the life cycle environmental impact of our trucks (including the whole value chain and all materials used). But if you are a blind pedestrian. Then you have to rely on your hearing. But it is not possible if you do not hear the vehicles coming. So then the vehicle that has 5 times as long braking distance as a normal car must have full control over what happens. But what are you going to do so that the blind can have any chance of knowing that it is a three meter high truck 2 meters from them?

Uuum you do know that electric cars make noises at low speed? Its a law since 2020 or 2019 i think. Try driving the new Tesla at low speed, u will hear noises from external speaker making kinda like alien sound mixed with petrol noise kinda.
