Great work Volvo. And you know, maybe for now it's just for get fuel efficiency and torque efficient. But later after the topographic map discover almost all the terrain, it gonna help driver who inexperienced on new road. For example on downhill, Volvo gonna make the truck lowering ratio and engine braking it's gonna be lowering the risk of human error cause by overheat brake and miss shift so it's gonna be more safe for a new or inexperienced driver. For me, it's not just for efficiency but for more on road safety and minimizing human error.

The biggest advantage is that it will let off the accelerator before you start the descent going around 7 mph below the cruise control set speed, this speed can the be recovered on the descent instead of using the brakes, and saves a lot of fuel on hilly terrain especially with lots of smallish hills, this really helps in Europe as our tachographs (thing that logs driving hours) will record an 'overspeed' if you exceed 56mph for more than 30 seconds

Why plan to hang on to your new truck for 15 years? Better to start with an oldie, build up some cash and buy the new truck outright. 5 years is about their lifespan before stuff goes wrong.

That's pretty much average because volvo doesn't have the power to alter the laws of physics. But try dropping your speed and that'll make a big difference

Winter fuel? Wyoming headwinds? Speeds driven? I think you need to explain your operating conditions first which can help. I was 6.6 this winter but lately 7.6 near gross weight at 68mph. Sometimes 8 if I’m easy on her.

So, when does the driver actually get to drive the truck instead of the computer doing everything for the driver? It actually takes the fun as well as the professionalism and pride away from the driver and just tossing it to a computer. Too much computer control and not enough driver common sense.

when will you lauch volvo in pakistan, our country is in dire need of quality automobiles and trucks, and the monopoly here of the big three ( suzuki, toyota, honda) are badly exploiting our people with low build quality and poor safety standards and high prices. Kia and Hyundai have already came to pakistan which is a relief , we would also like to see Volvo in Pakistan to break this unjust monopoly
