Volvo V40 1.8 Idle Problems

V40 whit 1.6 - 1.8 petrol engines (AKA psa engine) are known for issues whit cam gears and my car runed like that when that gear was time to be changed Always be aware of ratling sound while idling or driving if it ratles its time to change that came gear and timing belt my car had gone 1.500.000km now and have changed cam gear 5 times but still runs so take care of your oil shifts timing belt changes and not push it to hard its a weak car not a race car

Somebody said that snare sound is vvt solenoid going bad.

May it be faulty idle air control valve?

Hi, I can see that this is an old video, but did you get your idle back to normal? Mine did the same thing, but very rarely. I cleaned the ETM but i'm not sure if that was the source of the problem. Has been okay for weeks, but as I said, it was very rarely that this happened, could be just lucky. Anyway, hope you got yours fixed and have some tips. Thanks and have a good day.
