Sick bro! You saffa lads always do some awesomely weird swaps. This is coming from a guy with a homoglated S2000 with an LS3 in it lol. I'd have gone LS for this because parts/rebuilds for an BMW V8 aren't fun. But it's also unique and sounds great and probably wont see heaps of track days. Enjoy!

Muistaakseni volvoa on tehty v8moottorin kans mut niitä ei Suomeen tullut.. Jollain cevyn v8 moottorilla. Joskus ite noita Volvoja harrastin ni sillo sellaista tietoa löyty.

You shouldnt say that the tank meter never works, It works in mine and i've had 4 other 740s that they have worked in :P And its usually an easy fix if you check the solderings.

What suspension modifications have you made. I see different stuff on the front struts. Anything different with the rear? Why Alpina? Why not the V8 that comes in Volvo cars? I've seen people put FF engines into FR set ups with the 5 cylinder engines. Someday I aim to put a Volvo V8 into a Volvo wagon with maybe a T5 manual or Nissan manual. I feel the work will be rewarding and more factory similar.

BC racing coilovers, strongflex poly bushings, adjustable panhard and torque bar. Watch the rest of the build videos for more details. I got this engine for a good price and the swap was very simple and good power compared to some old v8’s.

Ive seen so many RWD Volvos with BMW swaps, whats the reason for the BMW drivetrains ? Are they easier to fit ? Dont have any issue with it, but it seems to be the goto swap for many RWD Volvos, like id expect to see more LS engines, or even some Mercedes or Porsche swaps sometimes but its so often BMW.

Damn that's clean! Love that it still has the original shifter. How did you change the bolt pattern for the wheels? Did you use adapter spacers or did you drill a new pattern into the old wheelhubs?

Engine is from a X5 4.6is but is designed by Alpina, and is exactly the same as in e39 Alpina. I am running GS6-37DZ gearbox.
