This is the greatest comment I have ever received! This one by itself makes it worth doing all this work. I will print it and put on the wall next to my bed, then I will always wake up with a giant smile on my face! 😀 Thanks a lot for watching and taking your time to comment! Really appreciate it!

my engine is holding up very well, when I acquired my second xc90v8 it was screaming from needing the whole serpentine belt and pulleys, I replaced all with new including tensioner and sounds so good, I can’t drive it because I don’t have a title for it but who cares it’s a tank and blocks my driveway and serves me well in emergencies but these videos are definitely valuable and I will come back and periodically watch them as I want to buy some additional 4.4 units off eBay and rebuild them for other applications. This motor with just a slight configuration is used on many marine outboard motors. The power to weight ratio is very impressive

They are very good engines except for that bearing at the back of the balanceshaft, that must be if not the worst, at least one of the achilles heels.

Hi, great job, your movies help me a lot. Do you have the number of this oring to powerstering pump ?
@Stafilafi Жыл бұрын
Hi, no unfortunately not. I went to a place where they sell o-rings and measured up an equivalent, don’t remember the measurements or partnumber.

@Stafilafi I see there are 2 hoses in the coolant reservoir. One is under and the other is coming from where the hood rests at on the frame. That goes on the fender side. There's a hole that is closed up on the engine side. Is it a big thing to have this 3rd hose connected.

Hi there, thanks for the videos! I am about to do front timing cover job on it and have problem finding crank holder tool. Can you explain a little better how to reproduce the tool that you have made :):) Thanks in advance

It’s really nothing special, I just traced where to put the holes with some stiff paper then transferred it to 0,8mm sheet metal. Simple as can be.

Can you tell me what the hose under the power steering pump pulley is. It's coming from the engine block next to a ground wire. Thanks in advance

It’s for coolant.

Thanks for the reply. Can you tell me where it goes? Thanks in advance
@Stafilafi6 ай бұрын
@blkjae120978 yes, it goes to the top of the coolant reservoir. Left side (in vehicle direction)
