Ice Spear + Freezing Pulse Totems Day 3 Build Update / Guide - 70 Million DPS!!

To get 6 link, it is VERY easy to just use the jewellers orb method at the crafting bench. U can slowly get the method going by collecting jewellers orbs from sellings 6 socket items. Start with 2 sockets, craft one red and one green socket, then craft 3 socket, if the third socket isn't green, craft 2 socket to remove it. Then craft 3 sockets again. When u hit green, craft 4 sockets. If the 4th socket isn't green, craft 3 socket, then craft 4 socket again. Repeat until you get the 3rd green socket. Now you only need 2 blue sockets which will be easy since it's a INT base body armor. So craft 5 sockets for a blue socket (if it's red or green, craft 4 socket to get rid of it, then craft 5 sockets again til u hit blue socket), and finally craft 6 sockets til you get blue socket. It's really simple once u figure it out. Make sure u put 20% quality in your body armor. Then you should have enough random stuff by now to sell in order to have 1 divine or about 140 chaos. ( sell scarabs, div cards, tattoos, catalysts, fragments, maps, etc. Sell whatever u can) Buy 500-700 orb of fusings from bulk trading on poe trade and start spamming them on your body armor. Spam them as fast as you can. I usually hit 6 link at around 175 -300 fusings as long as u spam them. BAM u now have an INT based unique body armor with 1 red, 3 green, and 2 blue sockets. Also, the recipe for crafting 6 sockets is found in the plaza map T11.

Props for not redoing the run after the fun wipe :) My thoughts below, read at your own risk. Currently 94, had a decent league start but got sick. Was able to get the core non-Annihilating Light Setup by Day 2 incl. a 6link Mantle, overpaid tho. Have now got core Annihilating Light setup, got lucky on my two lvl 21 gems (Tujen and Alva) but no really big drops. I currently have baby-versions of the big boy gear (gloves 39% dmg instead of 50 e.g.). Really loving the build so far, am planning to take it to 100 as a goal for the league without carry. The freeze / mapping is really good and I am loving Blight / Heist with this. Heist is not as "chill" as with a Raider though because random 1-shots can happen from all directions. I have played FP Totem about 6 times now, but not since the newest iterations with curse reduce jewels etc. have been around. Constructive Criticism: - No non-streamer will ever have jools with 50%+ curse reduce and crit multi / and or resistances. I sniped a nice base 30% reduce with crit multi and resistances, now the non-corrupt bases are like 40c+ if available at all. They might drop a bit in price but hitting that corruption and gambling on that many bases will be nigh impossible odds and very expensive imho. Maybe as a project for ulra min-max. Getting all the VAALs for corrupting your own jools is not to be underestimated, especially at league start. You should emphasize the point about the curse reduce as this is huge for the build and saves a ton of points on the tree / items. Edit: You can do without resistances on the reduce jools if you have some on helmet, boots and a nice ring / gloves. Could go for dmg only then, might make rolling easier. Buying 100 jools for 1c still feels bad tho :) - Pro: The builds baseline gets rolling fast, you really feel each upgrade - Pro: Leveling as Spark was amazing, thanks for the tip (I used to go HF Totem....) - Pro: Lots of flexibility at league start for tree options to iron out missing gear - Pro: Fun upgrading items based on preference in min max (lots of wiggle room with resists etc. start out cheap(er) and get more expensive) - Pro / Con: Annihalting Light - easier to gear than 2 +1 / +2 wands but for most ppl resistances early league will be too much of a problem, especially since you cant count the belt. - Con: In that regard you can save currency by going all out glass cannon but if white mobs 1hit you it might be frustrating :) - Neutral: If you play carefully the freeze really does take care of the defense. I die only to flame dash or other silly mistakes / being bad at the game. Guide-wise you could maybe add important notes etc. for things you tend to throw in randomly on the side like the comment about the 150% reduce needed with Coward's. Otherwise people will probably miss that - for you it is obvious, for others maybe not so. Overall highly recommend the build and really like the guide but don't be mistaken - getting the min-maxish items could take a while if you take longer to farm currency. Baseline is cheap though and comparable to many leaguestarters into basic allrounders for most content (10-20div depending). Thanks for all the work and keeping the Ice Spear / FP alive. Cheers.

Another Update since I love this build so much: Currently fully transitioned into Annihilating Light, got a an Awakened GMP before they skyrocket, currently still need another med. Cluster and Awakened Added Cold. Been too lazy to optimize Reduced Curse gems so far, next on the list. Got lucky on a ritual which led to the GMP purchase, otherwise I would have waited with GMP till later in favor for more upgrades on the side. On that note: I absolutely decimate all regular content inc. Shaper / Elder so far (this is now day 6, coming from a guy that works regular hours + overtime), mapping with FP feels amazing now. Absolutely destroying Blighted Maps, I basically no longer need any towers. I am a Blight-enjoyer. Heist / Betrayal can be iffy, but still doable. Iffy because of all the random stuff that can shoot around corners. My favorite iteration of FP / Ice Spear so far :) Highly recommend.

I feel the same. I really enjoy the build. I am not at the point to use the coward belt yet but it still feels so good. After skipping 2 entire seasons… is there a good optimized mapping loot filter? I know neversink ofc and I now use Von’s leveling filter. But I feel like I should get more efficient in looting.

Day 7 Update: All Watchstones done deathless, finally found a unik geode and got a nice spell dmg and more cast speed tree without downsides. Hit a rain of splinters today. Staff is definitely a keeper, going to buy two more staves to combine separately since I dont want to brick the more cast speed. Core of the build is pretty much done, need 3 more levels and now the min-maxing would start (optimized rare jewels, better helmet etc.). Definitely my best league start in the last 2-3 leagues.

Day 8 last update for anyone wondering about this build: Now Ubersirus down with -55 chaos resist, Uber Maven down, Uber Shaper down. Cortex was run for testing and to get witnessed for Feared normal, each phase took like 1 second. Uber UElder and Uber Cortex up next. All invites done except for Feared since I have been too lazy for Chayula so far. All done on 80 quant +. One thing I actually don't like on this build is Harbinger, the chains are kind of annoying from the big bosses. Currently about 24-26 Div invested since I crafted the medium clusters and Rain of Splinters and some jewels myself. Going for a +2 or +1/+2 chest next via Alva. Cheers

For 6 linking the chest you can use the beastry craf that corrupts the item with 30%quality it doesnt break the item it just give it the corrupted tag.and the beast you need for is very cheap or you can farm in the reef map i think

Thanks for the content! I am using your guide as a template, and doing super good! I hate to gemswap and love ice spear zooming across the maps, mapping is super smooth with taunt from totem mastery. On 2nd day I've crafted anomalous faster projectiles (its 50/50 with secondary lens) and it made my experience so much more enjoyable - I love eye cancer builds

@@contrakt666 crucible mod is awful, you dont want to shoot projectiles in a circle - that makes less projectiles overlap on single target. That's why anomalous faster proj is better, crucible mod would work for strictly mapping focused ice spear build (CoC Saboteur maybe)

I’m doing exactly what Von said, built a glass cannon, still not yet using annihilating light but are cruising yellow maps, only few maps into red maps, overcapped my res to 150%, plus 20% chaos res does help A LOT on survivability, I could basically stand on dot and not dying, waiting to switch over to annihilating light to see the dps spike Great guide as always, Von !!

Just a thought to make this less a cast on death build. I have been playing impending doom alot and i love the concept of vixen's. So i tried to rework the gem links so that if you are wearing vixens you can wear put three curses and enhance in the gloves or increased duration. Then you can put auras in the staff and possibly give spell suppression cap a shot in gearing. Might be hard with all the unique armor but its at least a thought. I really like the suppression/evasion/ES defensive layers. Im trying to work through your PoB at the moment and see if the damage loss is too big but i figured id throw it out here and see if you tried it and ran into a massive problem that would save me alot of time lol.

I did your bulid in Chat SF Steelmage private league (5k ppl economy). In 3 days i got 6l soul mantle with +1 (selfcorrupted, lucky AF, 4 tainted fusing to link), rings, Heatshiver, Ani Staff and a entire set of clusters. I feel like my dps is symilar to your. Overall bulid feels great, just lvling is a bit clunky imo (those lvling notes are fuck up a bit). And league mechanic is like 10x taniker than 4 guardians on 90% quant invitations. What's the point of having "+1 to level of socketed projectile gems" on the gloves and helmet? there aren't any projectile gems in the gloves or helmet. (Socketed means they have to be socket in this item???)

Imo there is a magic cap to reach if you play softcore: When you chose betwen 30 mln with some defence vs 100 mln with paper defence 30 mln probably wins. But when you reah about 200 mln magic hapens. You dont need defences on bosses. They melt before they do more than 1 abbility per phase. Sometimes you even skip phases.

So I’ve tried both phantasmal and regular 21 20 and regular is actually better QOL over phantasmal. The proj speed is actually huge and you get more 2nd stage crits in boss fights

When you move to Soul Mantle be it 4 link or more.. You also need the Kikazaru ring (60%) reduced curse effect, can you stack 2 to fully mitigate curse effect OR is there a node/jewel that can deal with the other 40%?

@@Miawou543 you are correct there’s a bug going on atm. Normally you would be able to use mtx with soul mantle…it’s been that way since Echos of the Atlas dropped.

Love this build u do a amazing jop. I start tomorrow on console with it. can you answer 1 question please. can i use annihilating light with purity of elements when i got one early on maps and bad gear?.or does that not make sense

Are you sure? My build the last few leagues could do a Minotaur without dying to anything except maybe the map boss once in a while. This build is very slow for mapping.

one question about the flasks, since we are perma criting (or most likely criting), wouldnt it be better to put them with gain charges on crit strike? would it give more liability on the charge gain

The main question I have is with the When "you" deal critical strike, i dont know if that counts with my totems, I wanna imagine it does since they get part of our stats, but im not completely sure

​@@PoderSensuaaaal On-kill effects are tied to the player, even if the totem kills. On-hit effects are player-specific, but totems will gain them for themselves, not for the player. If on-hit effect is aplayed to enemy enemy will still get it from totem. Example: Power charge on kill, hh buffs stolen from rares or MF stats are from and for player. Leech or flask when you crit as an on-hit effect will not. You can apply exposure on enemy via totem if you got it in cold dmg mastery or gloves. Totems are you, you are no Totem. If you are confused more than before, check wiki (normal one, not fandom).
