All these years later (2023) this is one of the best performances of the show's history and I have seen every season.

This is hands down one of the most underrated performances on this show of all time. Hello from quarantine

I can’t stop imagine how far she could have gone. She was so great and so charismatic.

This channel introduced me to vonzell and I think she's one of the best singers that's ever been on the show.

Loved this! I think Simon had it out for her all season. She consistently did great!

I disagree. Simon gave her credit where credit was due and was generally pretty nice to her. I think he said this particular critique to push her and motivate her. He did have a point...at this stage in the competition she was definitely in the middle and not on a lot of people's radars- neither as one of the best or one of the worst. But it's funny because right after this week she completely broke out of her shell, stepped up her game, and positioned herself as a front runner which catapulted her to the top 3. I think she really took in Simon's critique this week and she did something about it. Good for her!

I just do not understand why someone as incredible as this beautiful young lady with this wonderful voice is never on the roster of former Idol contestants. She was a stand out artist with stage presence and an incredible singing voice. it seems there must have been some kind of falling out that the shows organizers had made up their minds to pick and promote the beautiful blond country singer even before the show was over. Vonzell and her family could see what was going on early on and both parties, vonzell and the shows producers decided to disassociate from each other. Hence, she is never mentioned as a former 3rd place contestant that year. Shame cause she was effortlessly as good if not better some weeks than the winner that year. Definitely better than the 2nd place winner.

She has beautiful stage presence. She reminds me of Christina Christian from season 1. Both of them have that same ability.

Simon dragged this woman over the coals to make sure Carrie won. So disrespectful, and I guarantee that he'd agree, looking back.

Simon's remark kinda sucked. Because they're looking for best singers; not a stage performer. That'll come later after winning the title. I didn't notice her lack of movement. I was focused only on her vocal talent. The focus should've only been who has the best voice! Everything else will fall in place later during training

"A little pitchy, dog." She really pulled it out toward the end, though. Unfortunately, the final note was just a SPECK off key. Coming from the perspective of having "been there" back in the day... it got constant play on the radio when I was a kid, and most people from back then could've pointed out the same thing. She's got the goods, though. Maybe some professional voice training would be in order, otherwise she's very pretty and has good stage presence... should keep at it.

The reason this songbird should've won the title is because she has a beautiful voice that people of all racial cultures can relate to instead of just black people. Her voice is too beautiful. When your voice only moves a particular audience, you are actually a Group Idol; not and American idol. Carey Underwood was handed that title. Her voice only moves people who like coutry singing. But Ms. Solomon has a voice that all crouds can relate to as with whitney and mariah. They touched the hearts of the WORLD; people of all races. When you're that good, only then, you are a true idol as well as Icon. An American Idol moves America; not just a particular group in America. Carey Underwood's title was a white choice. Not an honest choice. I believe she knew that when she wone it.

Great observations Pam. I honestly forgot about Vonzell, even though she was my favorite that year. Everything you mentioned is on point. They constantly praised Carrie Underwood's performances, and constantly criticize Vonzell's performances. I hope she's doing well these days. I just remember being so proud of her.❤️
