I am a non guitarist but I really just get into all really heavy fast aggressive guitar... I have heard every cover of this song that I have come across ,Hendrix was the father that produced so many covers of this song, SRV and Gary are 2 of my favorites, I think what I like about them all is the way they try to get more out of their guitar than they possibly can... and it is ironic and sad that they all also died way too young....

I listened to a live version of this song by Stevie Ray Vaugnhan and then Gary Moore's live version as well. Gary's is better!

I don't know if you're a guitarist? But there is no way on the face of this earth that Gary was a better musician! JIMI Hendrix was a better guitar player, composer, song writer, and blues man period! I have been playing for 40 years, and I know what it means to be a bluesman, that being said, I have played with Stevie Ray Vaughn, Albert King, B.B. King, Lonnie Mack, Johnny Winter,Jimmie Vaughn, Ian Moore, John Saxton,Albert Collins, and so many more! I'am a native of Houston,Texas, and we know what the blues are all about! I met SRV in 1980 at on of our Clubs here called Fitgeralds, and from that day on I was able to meet and play with all of these Guy's at Antone's in Austin, Texas. Stevie could, and did play circles around Gary! I saw it with my own eye's and couldn't help but laugh! Gary think's that playing through the major, and minor Pentetonic scales as fast as you can is what blues is--well he 's wrong! Try listening to Lance Lopez another guy from where SRV was From Oakliff Dallas! This sun of bitch is some times even better than SRV.

Edward Mendiola Say bro, I always heard that from SRV, being from Oakcliff, I lived on Marsalis and Davis back then and had the fortune and privilege to see him play at the Warrant Co. Convention center, and it was an amazing experience for a lifetime. cause he tragically died after that. Chingado!! do you know where exactly in Oakcliff he grew up? by the way.
