Got one of these things a few months ago. Unbelievable. This is THE BEST pedal I've ever tried besides some multi-effects processors. This is amazing if you play a Les Paul. I use it to emulate a telecaster, I use it to turn my humbucker into a P-90 I use it as boost, sometimes I use it to add a little dirt. I use it as a preamp, as a treble cut and to darken my overly bright amp. Seriously amazing amazing pedal.

This one os my favorite for giving ' a wee lift' to my signal, allowing the amp and guitar character to shine through.

I tried this pedal and I liked it a lot, it really brings new life in any other piece of gear! Brett, I'm loving your Smitty guitar tones more and more... great, round P90 tones + maple neck. Amazing.

Another great demo! I really appreciated the breakdown at the end, showing how each pedal influenced the sound.

So how is the Giggity different from just using an EQ pedal with a basic overdrive. ? Say for example, couldnt you get similar sounds with a boss graphic eq pedal and a boss OD-3 ? Seems its just a matter of cutting or boosting the highs, mids and lows and then just adding some gain and overdrive if needed. Thanks !!

I'm a fan of Voodoo Labs' gear but I haven't quite got my head around this pedal and whether I really need it. From what I can tell, its effect would be no different to my MXR 10-band graphic EQ pedal. The difference would be that the Giggity would be easier to use and adjust on the fly during a gig, and the 10-band EQ pedal would be able to make more precise adjustments to each frequency range but be more the kind of pedal to adjust during soundcheck and leave setup for the entire gig. Anyone else got thoughts on Giggity versus an EQ pedal?
@alexmillar82428 жыл бұрын
Theoretically you are right, although a eq might not clip the same way as this pedal does when pushing into overdrive. If you just want a boost/tone enhancer and eq will be fine. Ive never used the giggity but it does sound great though. Another great pedal for giving you a really clear clean sound is the fulltone fat boost.
@martinskanal5 жыл бұрын
@@alexmillar8242 yeah, definitely would clip differently with straight EQ

@casecandy92579 жыл бұрын
So, what is it, exactly? A clean boost? A buffer? Both? Sounds lovely, but I share others' expressed skepticism that a custom Tele and a Laney couldn't achieve all this without the pedal?

I just got one and this thing is absolutely amazing, really goes almost anything, I can get a dumbly clean ot dirt sound,Marshall sound, vox, bassman, amazing pedal.

How do you get rid of that buzz that you hear when you engage them?
@megas28074 жыл бұрын
If it has overdrive up or some sort of distortion it will always make noise unless you gate that noise... I do not advice a noise gate, rather turn it of when you are not playing.

Maybe I'm wrong. But a lot of these pedal demos sound significantly colored by the amplifier being played through. Because guys will hit their clean / no effect sound, and it really sounds rather boosted and punchy - and, of course, the pedal being demoed will only greatly enhance that. I think amps should be set to a rather flat response with a more modest volume - so as to really hear what the pedal is doing by itself.
@theguitarczar10 жыл бұрын
where in the chain would you put this pedal in regard to drive pedals? before or after or if we have more than one, in between?
@BuildYourOwnBass7 жыл бұрын
theguitarczar it works really well last in the mono chain, as hitting it with a lot of input signal won't distort the Giggity like some "Amp in a Box" pedals will. you have to turn up the Loudness control on the Giggity or all you'll get is volume boost :)

You give very good demos.there's a lot of cornball demos out there too. lol. The Voodoo pedal sounds nice. But with a great amp like that Laney your playing out of it wouldn't need such a pedal. Because that amp is very capable of achieving those tones. But I could see that pedal doing wonders on amps like the Fender Hot Rod amps which in my opinion even though they are tubes sound too industrial. No soul in those amps.but this pedal would work wonders in them. Play that pedal in one of those.

I'm suspicious. For years everything Kingman plays sounds great. Other demos by different players of same stuff can sound much less terrific. On a special website I've even heard God play and with the same product Brett made it sound markedly more desirable. I'm confused.

These two pedals get you damn near close Eric Johnson’s tones so they are well worth it. You can find them on the used market for a relatively reasonable price.
