The best explanation I can give you is... that's the way that old school hot rods were built and were meant to be built. Kustom Kulture was fueled by youths of that era that just wanted to be fast and loud. Its not uncommon to find a 50 merc with a 53 fleetline grill. I have friends that dropped Olds V8s in stretched fords and made those things scream faster than a dual quad. There is no law in the outlaw world of customs. It was expressive. A chevy v8 in a ford w/ buick brakes is awesome.

Not getting into the debate of a Chevy in a Ford... Personally my dream would have a blown BB ford in it.. This is a perfect example of what hot rodding was and still is all about...Hot Rodding has no manufacturer..A Cad or a Lincolin done well is just as nice as the one that you built from the boneyard as long as it's your best effort...

For davewrathall1985 , I used a small block chevy in my Model T because small ford is roughly 8 inches longer and puts the grill shell way out in front making the car look out of proportion. just my opinion though..

Chevs are cheap to build & there are a ton of them available - - If you want to be accurate, the early rods, if they didn't have a built flathead, would have had Dodge, Olds, Cad or Buick V8s in them. Olds & Caddys had OHV V8s starting in 1949, Dodge in 52 & Buick in 54. Ford also had an OHV V8 in 54, a year ahead of Chevy. I remember a lot of street rods with those motors in them & at the time Chev V8s were seldom seen except in Chev bodies. 1st Rod I ever saw a Chev planted in was a Henry J.

He put a chevy engine in it because it's a better idea. It's just better past longer and it has idk like 50 hp more

Just my opinion; but when you 'create' a car like this, or even restore for that matter, if you go through all the work of making sure - in this case Ford- he has a new Ford frame, Ford grille, Ford body, why a Chevrolet engine? I don't understand why people mix engines. I think if you are going to restore or create a hot rod, it should be one brand through and through. In a Model A, a Flathead V8 sounds just as mean. I am just curious that's all, why people mix brands. Still a beautiful car!

@da7nesman nothing compared to what guys spend on their cars to pull those girls. A guy has to be earning 6 figures to have the same pulling power as some blonde who spent 10 bux on hair dye.
