I have a couple of Vornado heaters. I am impressed by their quiet running and the warranty - which I had to use on one of them. They made the exchange easy which was great.

I have a Vornado 633 that I bought at Home Depot in July of 2014. It's a good fan.

Vornado is probably the only fan brand that still makes pretty good quality fans. I have two of the “jet engine” design based fans. And both run very well and have lasted running 24/7 for a while with no noticeable problems besides some dust accumulation as expected.

I'm not impressed with Vornado anymore. They still honor their warranties which is a selling point, but their motors are average quality at best now. TPI seems to make the best stuff now, followed by Air King.

Just got a used one on eBay for about $45. I believe it was mgr in December 2021. I was kind of expecting more especially at the Low and Medium settings. There’s a big drop off between High, and then to Medium or Low. Very quiet until it’s on High, then it’s like a wind tunnel. I’d intended to use it to circulate air in a large room or whole floor (approx 400-600 sqft), or to pull cooler air from downstairs to upstairs. But I may use it instead on Low or Medium in my bedroom to help circulate cooled air from the A/C vent. It’s a bit big and expensive for this purpose but now I’m intrigued. That said if I had to buy another I’d get a 533 or maybe a 62. Looks like you maybe had a similar experience in this demo.

If you're going to buy used, look for one of the models from the 90s. They are vastly superior -- much quieter, far more powerful, and have a good variance in speeds. Some are even variable speed.

Jordan U ...any recommendations please? So far, I’m closest to going for a Vornado 660 because of its’ powerful CFM and also warranty. I can’t find a better fan for $90. Is the 660 or other Vornados ball bearing motors?

@@LessTalkMoreDelicious Home Depot offers a generic brand 11" air circulator fan which I've done some videos on, while I have not had it long enough to know how it holds up over time, I can say that it's just about unsurpassed in terms of performance and build quality for the price.. AmazonBasics also puts out a similar fan.. Both of those, including the Vornados, are all plastic.. I think Air King's high velocity series would be a better fit for a shop use case, you may be able to find the 9214 or 9218 in the double-digit price range.. I do not believe Vornado uses ball bearings, but the Air King 92xx series does..

You should get the Vornado 660 fan, it has 4 speeds and i have one. Its really great to no surprises. Vornado fans are always great quality.

Without measuring, 10 or 12 inches is my guess.. Towards the middle of the unit, it gets a little wider..
