Looks like I misunderstood page 30 in the manual (Step 7 in the video, Thanks Davie!). I need to add three more nuts in the left Z extrusion. I'll show this in the next video also. They manual talks about a Bowden extruder, but that is two additional nuts.

Scott, hope you are doing well. I really found this first episode on the V0.2 to be the best I've seen out there. Looking forward to the next update when you're ready and of course, have the time and energy. All the best to you!

Scott, I sure appreciate your build videos. You helped ma a bunch with a spot I was stuck at in my Trident build (it was getting the Octopus flashed). My only comment here is that I used a pair of 1-2-3 blocks and round spacer blocks to set my frame with. no issues with tangencies or squareness, and it speeds things up a lot.One 123 on the side where the extrusion end and face meet, and one on the inside to assure squareness. I used the round spacer block set to get parallels set. Post assembly measurement showed no need to move things. Anyway, in my opinion, you make the best assembly videos on youtube. All steps are clear and well explained. Pitfalls are clearly shown. Thanks man!

Another week or so. I spent this last weekend repairing my 2.4. It had a dead short on the part fan that was shutting down the MCU. That one repair turned into doing all the other repairs I've needed to do for the last few months. lol

Hey Scott, Scott, first off thank you for a clear video. I am pretty sure I put my rail-bar in upside down (based on your description) so I will go check that :) And in exciting news, my LDO kit came with rubber plug stops in the linear rails (well the generic ones) so it is convenient to leave them in place without having to tape down the carriage. I do have a question about how you centered the linear rail. Putting a clip on both ends makes sense to me, but I saw a different video focusing on moving the carriage backwards and forwards to help nudge things to the center while using a clip. I have no strong feelings either way, but wondering if you see a different in the two techniques (or a combination of both)?

PSA for anyone going through this smart enough to check comments first (not me apparently) (1) ~ 20:00 you're told to preload 3 nuts in the right extrusion, you need to preload 3 to both vertical extrusions. (2) Instead of using tape to hold the carriages if you have the little stoppers on the linear rails you can move them from the outside holes to the next one in on each side, then when i added the printed railstops i moved them both to the opposite side just for a little redundancy and piece of mind. Tape didn't want to stick to my just lubed rails. (3) Instead of the printed "no drop nuts" i just added an m6 screw to the 2 outer nuts and lightly tightened to hold them all in until they're needed. Mostly doing this as i didn't preprint the no drops and it's working well so far. Time will tell if i need to go back and print them later on. At least they're small and quick if so. If i come across anything else that might help I'll try to add them in the other parts. All in all this is a *great* guide, one of the shorter ones I've watched so far without a whole lot of filler eating up time which is why it's the one playing while i do the actual build. Thanks for that! Bonus tip: if you have a regular printer or access to one print the manual to have as a reference as you go to help spot issues like the one mentioned around 20:00 in. GL

On page 30 in step 7, you missed preloading 3 nuts in the left Z extrusion that will also be used for attaching the back panel. Should have been 3 nuts in each Z extrusion, for a total of 6 nuts loaded in that step. But other than that, great informative video! Would have been very helpful when I built my V0.1 over a year ago.
@scottcorn
@scottcorn Жыл бұрын
Cool, thanks! The three nuts you are talking about (I think) are for a external boden motor. I'm only going to run the direct drive extruder so I don't need them. I probably should have said that in the video. :)
@daschu117
@daschu117 Жыл бұрын
@@scottcorn no, the 3 nuts in that extension are required, while the callout for the optional nuts is for 2 additional for the Bowden extruder. Check the left side of page 30 again.
@scottcorn
@scottcorn Жыл бұрын
I see. It wants three loaded, but an additional two should be added if you want a bowden setup?
@daschu117
@daschu117 Жыл бұрын
@@scottcorn yup! They're for the electronics panel to hold it securely to both extrusions. Wouldn't want to skip them because they can't be loaded after frame assembly, and adding them after the panel and electronics are in will be even more of a pain.
@scottcorn

As someone who is considering building a Voron 0.2 this was fun to watch and listen to your suggestions when certain parts needed to be connected. Do you have a site that you recommend buying a quality LDO kit like yours I’m in NA if that helps? Thank you.
