Is a procharger more reliable seems simpler? Liked the ending traded my mustang last summer I miss it. I need to come to Ford take over fellow Tennessean.

A procharger will have the benefit of being a simpler install, but it will also put more stress on your crankshaft/crank pulley. Depending on who you ask or what flow tables you read, you’ll also see that a procharger is not quite as efficient as a vortech/Paxton. It’s still a great blower, but you’re kind of paying extra just for a brand name.

Does the heritage gear set only change the sound at idle? Will the different gear sets sound the same when in boost and between shifts with a max flow BOV?

I know this is over a year late and you probably got the answer by now, but yes, it only changes the sound at idle. I have the heritage gear set on my Paxton blower. When you’re in boost, there’s too much noise (even with quiet, stock exhaust) to hear anything else anyway.

My biggest dislike with centri is the sound. I have a ‘88 with regular gears and front of car that’s all you hear.

With the standard gears you can have it a lot quieter. I love the sound but I can see where some might want it quieter.

18+ S550's you don't need OPGs, and CS's unless you are pushing big power (800+) and or going over factory redline. Save money.

I agree and inform my customers of that but some want them anyway for their piece of mind. I give them the choice, I don’t push them at all. The 21 did not put OPG’s in but the 16 and 18 wanted them. But all tuners tune them to shift over factory redline.

I'm glad I came across this. I'm looking at the ess supercharger for my 2020. I'm not after huge hp. I'd be happy with 600 rwhp. I wasn't sure if I would need opg or not. My car is a manual
