You really are the king of the Wavestate lands. Someone to look up too. It's my favorite synth and you just made it even more exciting to dive deeper into it.

I have a Wavestation from early 90s and I remember up to these days very lively the extraordinary feelings, as I have heard WS for the very first time - this was simply AMAZING! The feeling is back here. Thank you KORG, thank you Waveformer! :) WS fan for-ever!

Cool! I’ve never owned a Waveatation myself, but have always been intrigued by the unique sound. The Wavestate has a lot of (all?) the samples from the original Wavestation. Wavesequencing is fun :-)
@redfred93532 жыл бұрын
@@Waveformer Exactly, I believe the whole original WS is inside :) I still use it, but as I see / hear KORG has evolved the possibilities substantially and it has no rocket price tag, I think about buying the Wavestate anyway :))

Superb once again. I use your first two soundbanks in most of my work and can't wait to buy the third. You have mastered the Wavestate and with that one synth seem able to acheive what would have taken a room full of synths back in the day, and all in real time!

Thank you for your kind words and support 😊. The Wavestate is a great synth, and it has changed how I compose and jam and design sounds. And I couldn’t afford a room full of synths 😅.

Beautiful once again. It doesn’t look like you are using the new performance hold function - do you still use a sustain pedal for your performances ?
@Waveformer Жыл бұрын
Yeah, I prefer the sustain pedal to the performance hold function. That way I can hold/sustain when both my hands are on the keyboard, using my foot instead of one of my hands.

Hi, beautiful sounds, if I buy them, can I upload them to the VST Native version? do i need a wavestate synthesizer?
@Waveformer Жыл бұрын
All patches are tested with the Wavestate Native VST and sound identical to the Wavestate hardware synthesizer.
@patrickr10912 жыл бұрын
Hi Thomas, thanks again for another superb Wavestate performance! I have two questions: 1. Do you use keyboard zones? I guess Arp on layer A is down, and the pad on layer C is in the upper registers, right? 2. The pad is very nice because it is so floaty and changes volume over time. Do you use "Hold" for that layer or just long envelopes?
@Waveformer2 жыл бұрын
Hi Patrick. Yes, I use keyboard zones a lot. The bass on Layer B is only in the lower octave (up to B3). The arpeggiator on Layer A covers the two lower octaves (up to B4). The pad starts at the upper octave (from C5 and up). The second arpeggiator, on Layer D, covers the whole keyboard range, but I use keyboard tracking for the amplitude to make sure it is silent below the upper octave (below C5). To keep all arpeggiators and wave sequences in sync, it's best to make sure all layers overlap somewhere on the keyboard so I can start them at the same time, in sync. If I start with pressing a key in the lower octave, the arpeggiators in Layer A, B and D will be in sync. I have set the damper/sustain pedal to work only for the pad in Layer C, so I can let go of the keys and twist knobs :-).
@patrickr10912 жыл бұрын
@@Waveformer Thanks for the thorough explanation! :-) Much appreciated, as are all your WS videos and your soundsets (of which i have bought the first one). They really help me get to grips with programming the "beast". I see, so you work a sustain pedal off-screen.... very clever Idea. :-) The tip to overlap layers in order to keep them in sync is also gold. I still don't really know what the master lane does in terms of syncing, but I'll get there eventually... still a lot to digest.

how do you get it to keep looping the sound while you twist knobs? Are you using a looper as well?
@pauljongen16212 жыл бұрын
There is a sequencer inside, and he presses the keys as well. I think that's how it is done.
@Waveformer2 жыл бұрын
The performance/patch consists of three arpeggiators and a pad. The arpeggiators are latched, so when I have played the notes, I can let go of the keys and the notes will keep playing. For the pad layer, I use the damper/sustain pedal to jolt the notes, so I can let go of the keys and twist knobs instead 🙂🎛🎶. The arpeggiators are set to repeat the notes in the order I play them, so in a way it’s like a very basic looper.
