The only thing I would add about reloading is attention to detail and try to minimize distractions. Distractions = possible dangerous loads. Really enjoyed this discussion.

1:10:30, height over bore. With calipers,I measure objective bell diameter and dived by 2. Measure barrel outside diameter and divide by two. Measure distance from the bottom of the bell to the top of the barrel. Add those three and you have height over bore.

I wish this was available when i started, you guys are absolutely correct that the amount of information can be paralyzing to someone getting started. After a some time at the bench, it has become one of my favorite parts of shooting. If i could make one suggestion, some B role to show close ups of what you guys are talking about would be helpful. Not just in this but your awesome cartridge podcasts.

I just want to thank Vortex Nation Podcast for going above and beyond every other optics brand out their with the informative podcasts, walkthroughs. Its truly another level of service to your customers and all the other brands out their should take a note. Their VIP lifetime warranty is bar none the best available, even compared to Leupold. At some point when you expect customers to trust your products you have to go above and beyond to make them respect your brand of optics. Eotech is one that mostly comes to mind for me. I love Eotech optics but man their warranty is shit. They not only give a crap warranty on the parts and of the scope but the electronics is 2 years? 2 years folks! Thats obsurd that they expect people to spend nearly 2 grand on a newly developed rifle scope and to not protect their customers with a warranty atleast equal to the scope for electronics. Thanks again Vortex and crew for bringing the competition to the rifle scope market.

Looking to get in to reloading, both pistol (9, 40, and 10) and rifle (5.56, 270, various .30s, and 350) cases. For rifle, I am thinking of doing two press set-up assembly. First would be a single stage to decap, then tumble, then back to the single stage to neck size, following with a trimmer. Changing neck sizing dies to match caliber. Second press would be a progressive set up to prime, charge, seat bullet, and crimp neck. Changing the turret with dedicated dies mounted for each particular caliber. Buying a new caliber components and turret set up each year until I have what I need to load for the rifles I have. Would Lee's loadmaster progressive be acceptable for a budget minded, able to grow set-up?

That’s very interesting sir. Have you made a video on these before? You make them so I assume that they must be made. I’d love to try this and make a video on them.

This was the first I’ve heard of getting your barrel wet to test for safe pressures. Any resources on that process?

Just saw this! Sorry for the delay. You should chat with Ryan Hey about that one - he's on Instagram and you can probably get him if you call Magnetospeed as well. We're sure he'd be happy to nerd out about it!

Man the host is so annoying I can’t watch. How does such a unknowledgeable person run this podcast.
@VortexNation4 жыл бұрын
Jimmy here - Sounds like you're kind of missing the point here to be honest. For starters - neither Mark nor myself ever claimed to be experts - the whole reason for doing this series of reloading podcasts was to show two people who have literally never reloaded before going through the learning process and documenting every step for other people out there who have never reloaded before either. Try remembering the fact that everyone starts from ground zero knowing nothing and we all go through the learning process to get wherever we're at. But hey - if you just don't like me because you think I'm annoying - that's fine. With thousands of people listening to these podcasts we never expected that every single person would love us - there's certainly a podcast out there for you with a different style that you'd probably like more. But just insulting someone's intelligence for trying to learn about a topic isn't really good form. We're all in the same industry here and should be trying to do everything we can to not divide ourselves or keep newcomers out. Thanks for giving us a shot.

Wow man! You want to knock these two young men when they are trying to bring you the best of the best experts in each field? They don't have to do this, they also never claimed to be the experts, they are simply in charge of bringing the Vortex brand to the people and honestly they have done a better job than any other brand out their. Name one that is going this far to help the gun community with information like this. They are a an optics brand not a ammo maker, or a rifle maker. Last but not least they are asking all the questions that new shooters need to know and want to know from the experts they bring in on their podcast. So at the end of the day brother try showing a little more respect for these guys and what they are trying to do for the gun community. Hope you have a better day friend and like I said, they are simply asking the questions they see asked in the comments, or that they themselves have which helps the rest of us out.

Adam Rose the host constantly takes it off topic with dumb jokes and slows down the experts trying to convey a concept. I’m here to listen to them and every time they get into something he makes a dumb comparison about things that don’t even relate. It’s annoying. He needs to take the learning more serious and lessen his comedic interference.
