I have one of those lights under a different Chinesium name. Mounted on my 5.56 M4. No issues, hundreds of rounds. Mine has two buttons, one for strobe, one for On.

Thanks for the info. The reviews for online sales bites. They don't have a reliability on anything. They need to be easier for bad reviews. They pretty much just mean the item showed up and worked on arrival. I have bought a few things with 4 and 5 star reviews and they didn't last.

In my first review of the two P4L-R (pic rail) lasers installed on home defense Rifle (BSA 16" upper) and a PCC, I didn't like the Scatter light coming off the Laser emitters. Mounted the PCC Laser to the rear on the Pic rail, so the beam could shoot 'Under' my high mounted RDS. Operating the off-on with my right thumb. I didn't like the way that Scatter light from the Laser would light up the 2" RDS mount. The inside of mount glows red, from the Scatter. (Gives away your position). They also were difficult to see in direct daylight on the 50 yard range targets. Votatu sent me two newer lot-number Lasers that I'm still using. Only 1 of the 4 lasers has a little lower power output than the others. Shooting in in-direct sunlight with the other 3 laser works pretty well. The 50 yard range has shade trees on both sides. When the sky is overcast, they are very easy to see at 50 yards. All four lasers work well in low light conditions. Early AM & Late PM. On the rifle, the Laser is installed above the muzzle (where an Iron sight would be) and it works very well. Left thumb operation is perfect. I'm using a Monstrum Banshee 1-6x24 MX1 (3.25" above bore) on the rifle now, so the top mounted laser body is visible at 1X. But does not obscure the target area. It's below the bottom MOA markings in the MX1 box reticle. The laser body can't be seen when zoomed up to 2X or higher. Lights: My first ML40 light is M-loc mounted on the right side near the Rifle muzzle. Operation with left forefinger. It's a good light (and laser) setup for home defense. Have not used it at night yet. My second ML40 is mounted on the left side of a Desert Tech Trek 22 (1022 inside a bullpup). Also Installed the weak P4L-R laser on a Pic rail installed (upside-down) below the muzzle. It's the perfect .22LR setup. These Votatu lights and lasers are very light weight, low-snag and the wire free buttons are really easy to find by feel in the dark. I recommend these two products for people on a budget and those who don't want to add a lot of weight to their firearm. Batteries: These devices charge up slowly when the have been used a lot. If you mostly leave them sitting in the safe, take them out once a month (at least), turn them on for 20 minutes and then recharge them with a standard USB wall wart.

when doing lights, i beg, please do a lights out "backyard" beam shot. and maybe a "living room/down the hall" beam shot. maybe throw in a colored paper target at the longest distance. i know its more setup time, but i buy lights based off of good hybrid flood and spill characteristics and enough color rendering. it hugely helps if theres so much lumens that pointing the gun at the ground is enough to see who it is and not flag a friendly. doing day shots with a flashlight, in todays age, is amateurish.

I bought one to mount on my Mossberg 500. Unfortunately, because it's so low profile, there was a TON of barrel shadow. So I swapped it to a rifle at 12 o'clock position where it sits perfectly. I took the TLR style light from the rifle to the shotgun. So it all worked out except I wanted the magnetic recharging on the shotgun. Oh well

I bought the one with the green laser......did you have any problems with the green laser moving from zero when shooting? I haven't tested mine out just yet.
