I was born and raised in a rural area where Muay Thai was integrated into our society. Some of my close friends stepped into the ring when they were teenagers. As much as I loved Muay Thai and wanted to train like my friends, I had a condition called Pectus Excavatum which suppressed my lung capacity causing shortness of breath and less stamina. Regardless, I still fought a few fights. I have also watched Muay Thai for more than 35 years and have been wondering why Muay Thai is not big as boxing when it the form of martial arts it is finest using 8 limbs. No offense to UFC but most fighters’ striking form looks amateur.

Sorry to break the news to you, but I assume you were taught history in a ( very proud) Thai school? But in fact you should thank your great King Rama V for his negotiating skills between the French and British and his friendship with Queen Victoria. Siam then became a buffer zone between the British and French and kept the peace.
@emmycaty46703 ай бұрын
@@goldenbrown0that’s how you do when you don’t have technology weapons. Swords will not beat guns and bomb. But if both countries are technology equally, then Thailand would do a battle like usual. Thai people are not stupid. Native Americans people were almost genocide because of lack technology.
@traceurs6193 ай бұрын
@@emmycaty4670The natives knew how to use their rifles against them. When they did trades with the colonizers, the guns were highly available, but the colonizers were very strict with the ammo. They weren’t too trusting of the natives, and knew they had the upper hand as long as they had more ammo. Because they were going to need it for a battle when the natives outnumbered them. So, they did what was best for them in the end… just thinned the herd until they no longer wanted to fight.
@icyblue1000Күн бұрын
I'm Thai but this comment is too naive. We were actually colonized by Angwa (Burmese) twice don't you remember? Don't let the new gen propaganda fools you.
