Placing Matt in the roles of different npc's really sells whole "animated TTRPG" feel

Actually given the timeline I think it's more likely that the "Cadeceus" Cameo is actually his dad, Cornelius Clay, on his quest to fix the Blooming Grove.

When Thordak went all Godzilla on the Cloudtop, I was absolutely FLOORED. What a start to the season!
@TheRedMan772 жыл бұрын
Right?! When I saw that, my fucking jaw dropped because I didn't remember him doing that in the campaign. But I'm glad they made Thordak different than other Red Dragon's other than just being bigger. He's my favorite character this season.
@occultcenturion11312 жыл бұрын
I actually wanted to implement that into an ancient red dragon encounter in my own game! I'm just wondering how best to do it.

Reminded me of Shin Godzilla doing his Atomic Breath the first time. Starts out as a flame and then turns into a beam.

For those looking for Caduceus and Yasha: Caduceus is at 3:02 near the bottom next to the stairs standing in front of some green robed people Yasha is at 3:03 in front of the biggest buildings door talking to two people, one with orange hair and another with blonde (at least I think that’s her)

Thanks for the help. I did post still frames at the end of the video because some of the Easter Eggs went by kinda fast hope it helped.

I loved the moment when Grog showed with a door and blocked the fire while yelling 'Get behind me!'. Braum mode activated.
@tristanmilner95112 жыл бұрын
Shin Godzilla. The only Godzilla to go from red flame breath to a focused beam.
@johnowen56622 жыл бұрын
I think Grog using a metal door to defend against Thordak’s breath may also be a reference to Fatalis from Monster Hunter, during the fight against it in MH World, there are multiple times where the only way to save yourself from its fire breath is to hide behind metal structures that get almost completely melted by the breath, similar to in the show
@sadknight28262 жыл бұрын
Interesting I'm fairly new to Monster Hunter World and haven't gotten to that part yet so I wasn't aware of the possible reference but it sounds super cool. Thank you for the information I'll defiantly look into it.
@TheRedMan772 жыл бұрын
This might just be me, but does anyone else think Thordak has a weird resemblance to Safi'Jiva? Other than just being red dragons of course, but in general build, horn structure and other such things. I can't be the only one seeing this can I?
@matheusfiorelli88292 жыл бұрын
i think it would make more sense for that be a Deck of Ilusions (you know who had one), cause Grog finding it after the battle with Thordak is such an icconic scene, i dont think they would change that :V
@sadknight28262 жыл бұрын
Honestly I was looking forward to Grog finding it the normal way as well and after seeing ep4-6 it looks like it was just a teaser to get us hyped for the Deck of Many Things so here's hoping we get to see it soon. Thank you for the comment I totally agree.

That survivor/refugee girl staring at grog,she looked alot like Eren (aot), I know it's she'll be adressed later, but her clothes, the green eyes, everything resembled young eren (the vibe is also almost same lol)

That is a very interesting idea you could be right. Thank you for the awesome fun fact I didn't notice it before but now that you mention it I can total see it.

The flirting Kash does with Keyleth feels like an Easter Egg. Wonder if they'll kiss this season.
@amritas-edits2 жыл бұрын
I thought the earth wind and fire thing was more an Avatar the Last Airbender/the Legend of Korra reference especially with Keyleth going "i'm not that great with water yet"
@sadknight28262 жыл бұрын
Oh yeah their is defiantly a lot of references to the avatar as we build up to Keyleth's Aramenté and this one can be considered one of them too but the band was very popular during the casts youth which their known for making references to things from their generation so it is most likely both. Thank you for the comment you bring up a very good point.

I thought the "fabled lance of dragon slaying" was a reference to Ash in c3 breaking the lens thing that Talisean thought was a magic item. In this clip you literally see the magic "break" from the sword.

I find hard that be Dagen since he is in/from Wildemount and also, I doubt he is the only adventurer in a wheelchair
@sadknight28262 жыл бұрын
I totally agree but since there are hidden campaign 2 characters in the show it could have been a reference to him so I left it in as a bonus nod to his character. Thank you for the comment your totally right another reason it shouldn't be him is that Dagen is a dwarf and this guy appears to be a human.

Was wondering about the woman with glasses, cause she looked kinda out of place in the Slayer's Take. Also, the little girl that glared at Grog in Whitestone, is that a reference or just because he is a goliath like Vedmire from season 1?

I have to admit, I was a little annoyed by the normie memes the writers chose to feature. But . . . Upon further consideration, Critical Role was birthed from the internet, and is right to incorporate its gags. After all, Vox Machina's campaign was happening during the heyday of these dusty old memes. They were new back then. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Also, sneaky Caduceus. We need to have more firbolg Where's Waldos. For a half-giant race, he sure is hard to spot!
