That is a very good point and most likely right. There was so much stuff hidden in this show even from there personal life and history out side of the game that their was no way I was going to find them all. The dragon lance sword was a reference to Percy's sword that he used during campaign 1. It was a dragon slaying weapon that didn't see much action except for one instance where he was forced into using it due to his weapon's jamming or some other. Much like the other items from Gilmore's shop that the party got, I imagine this was included alongside it for a future nod.

I'll though you are correct about Percy having a dragon slaying sword not all references come from campaign 1 but other campaigns, table top history, and even things from their personal life's. I could be wrong as its been a while since I watched it but during one of the commentary videos matt did with the group when the show released he mentioned it being a reference to the dragon lance campaign setting. But ether way thank you for your comment you definitely are very knowledgeable about the show which I really love to see and hope to hear from you again for season 2 as your insight would be very useful and appreciated.

@@sadknight2826 Oh, no doubt I loved the way the campaign performed and it's one of those bizarre things that got me thinking. While, I don't remember the dragonlance correlation as I haven't explored the setting myself. The sword was at one point Percy's I remember it so vividly since Grog was choosing a new weapon. The thing that came to mind since he had a bunch of weapons at the time was Percy's Longsword that apparently happened to be some dragonslaying sword that could have helped a lot with the previous fight! The first campaign holds a special place in my heart and shaped many of my views on how dnd should be played. Anyways, this was a great video, and I enjoyed it. Good job.

So small note about the seating for the dinner, the phrasing should be different. That's not the order the cast sits in, its the order their characters were introduced to the other guests during the feast, with the addition of Pike who was absent during the original livestream. So in the livestream it was Grog, Vex, Vax(he was announced as Vax but it's actually Percy in disguise), Scanlan, then Keyleth. Interestingly, Percy is himself in the scene in the animation. Percy during the original feast in the stream actually disguised himself as Vax in the hopes that the Briarwoods would not notice him due to his history with them, while the real Vax was invisible so he could sneak off to the Briarwood's room. However the cast's actual seating during the streams was top table: Vax/Liam, Vex/Laura, Pike/Ashley, Grog/Travis. Then the bottom table: Percy/Taliesin, Keyleth/Marisha, Scanlan/Sam.

The reason that Percy is himself is that they didn't know about the Briarwoods until they arrived in the animated series and it was most likely done to avoid confusion for the viewers.

The tripod holding up the ball in the upper right corner might be a reference to the tripod the Mighty Nein found that held the Luxon beacon up for experimentation.

This might be a reference or foreshadowing but after the king found out that it's a dragon that is attacking he asks Allura if she can do anything about it as she handled the one before. This could be a reference to the cinder king or foreshadowing season 2

3:12 Fastball Special. This is the nickname for the throwing move which they borrowed from X-Men comics (and probably cartoons and video games which they would have done voice acting work). Colossus would throw Wolverine at their enemies, that was the original fastball special. Same thing with Dimension Door. Why is it a purple surge of energy and they "bamf" over to a different location? That is the signature teleportation sound and light effect of Nightcrawler from the same X-Men team. They are nerdy-ass fans just like us.

Taliesin actually had a show on Alpha called the Wednesday Club, in reference to Wednesdays being the day most comics arrive at the comic stores. You can find episodes of it on here, though sadly G&S hasn't officially put them up on their channel. There was also another major X-Men reference. The character of he-who-shall-not-be-named had a pet baby dragon named Lockheed. It's possible that we might see reference to that as an Easter Egg when they go up against Voragal. I doubt they'll actually mention him, which is too bad because that was such an emotional moment from the stream.

Oh yeah agreed she is ether not born yet or a child at this point in time but the Easter Eggs are references to other things in the series, table tops games, and there personal lives like there voice acting careers. The Critical Role team discussed this during their watch party that Easter Eggs are not constant to the world state like the stuffed sprinkles or Vex's Witch Hat which were seen and confirmed by their team which are both vastly out of place timeline wise. Agreed it may just be the skull of some random person or even a cobalt soul member but even if it is Beau's skull it doesn't mean she's died its just a reference too her. Thank you for the comment you brought up some great points and I love seeing other peoples point of view on the subject. I hope we have fun looking into new Easter Eggs in Season 2.

You missed the Troll Dick reference in Brimscythe's lair. Originally, in the Pre-stream setting the party had a Troll dick in the bag of holding after Scanlan used Polymorph to transform into a female Troll and the Troll they were about to fight got a "excited" and Grog kept it as a souvenir, and didn't get rid of it until the Events of the Chroma Conclave were it was severally rotted and basically mush.

The Items is the shop are just an Easter Egg of the items in the show. A lot of the ones in the shop were confirmed by Matt and are just their for the fans to have fun seeing. Matt even said that somethings teased at in this season may appear official later down the road. I hope we do get to see a lot of the guest stars in season 2 and have even more fun Easter Eggs to find. Thank you for your question I hope I cleared up what I meant in the video.
