My son bought me this Pedal a year ago, the instructions were a little confusing so, I just played around with the knobs and been having a blast with it and now, your video just started a whole new ball game for me, you created a Monster, Lol! Great tutorial, I Highly recommend this Pedal. 😁

Nice! "CP" means copy, or stored. Stomplab 1G doesn't have Expression pedal. 2g becomes SUPERCHARGED with Expression pedal control "on the fly" over some setting - like delay or reverb time or mix, volume, compressor, rate of trem or phase etc., pitch shift (has a range of detune or one note to either octave up or down), Wah pedal (two types), and I'm maybe forgetting sonething... I bought a Stomplab, killed it, bought Zoom and Mooer, and bought another Stomplab. Won't even keep the other two for backup! Stomplab pitch slides all strings, not just one at a time. The others' wah too sensitive, turning on and off while playing. They sound grainy and fizzy. Change reverbdelay mix on those, and it ceases unnaturally - Stomplab lets reverb or delay fade! Stomplab simplicity keeps you from wasting time on too many options that all suck anyway. Yeah, I'm a fan! Oh, and Stomplab's compressor really works.

This was perfect. I just bought one and this puts me in the ballpark with editing and saving. Full time working musician in NYC. With congestion pricing about to take effect to drive into midtown Manhattan, it’s going to force me to take the train into NYC from Brooklyn. That forces me to pare down my system. I have a heavy pedal board with a wah wah, overdrive, tuner…etc I’m going to program this pedal and see how it goes. I picked it up for $70 and in NM condition. Thanks again! I dig your playing! Yes, you can definitely use this "multi-effects" pedal as only one of those effects (like you said--only as a delay, reverb pedal, distortion--even as a wah or volume pedal). What you would do in that situation is follow the above steps in Edit Mode, but turn all of the effects "off" except for the one(s) you want to use. And another cool thing--after you make all the changes you want, you can save those to certain User Patches. There aren't a whole lot of User Patches available ("u0-u9", then "U0-U9"), but your "u3" patch could be just delay, your "u4" just reverb, etc. etc. I hope that helps!

Michael Louis-thanks for the kind words. I’m glad it was helpful for you. I have used this pedal for similar things: I once used it for a full theater show when I had to travel overseas. It was amazing to be able to stick this into my guitar gig bag with a few cables. There are a lot of other pedals with more features, but I really like the sound and feel this one - feels and responds more like a real amp (to me) than many of the other processors I’ve tried. Biggest challenge for me was having only the two up/down buttons for switching patches. If you want to go from you our saved sound “03” to “06” for example, you have to hit the button three times to pass sounds “04” and “05”. OR, save your patches in a particular order so it takes only one button push to select the sound you want. Hope that makes sense. Enjoy!

I made some general patches yesterday and your tutorial really helped. I need a Wah Wah patch, but please tell me there's a way to use the expression pedal as a Wah Wah in a patch? Here's some recent tracks I cut (not with the Vox) with James "Worm" Wormworth. Drummer for the Conan O' Brien show's Basic Cable Band. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bovKZp6tnrGKhJI, kzbin.info/www/bejne/d5vEaIuHj7NoqdU Thanks again! Best - ML

Love the track you shared! I plan to reply directly to that video. Yes-you can absolutely use the expression pedal as wah. I will have to plug it in again to explain exactly how to do that (I think it’s one of the options you select under the PDL effects before an amp ). But another option is to find a preset sound that has the wah already engaged, then save that sound to a user bank and modify it to what you like. That is a long way to do it, but it would work. Even like a standard wah, you can turn it off and on by kicking it forward. I think it’s a very nice sounding wah too, by the way. Hope that helps!

Thanks, Cory - Now I can finally use mine correctly. I need to reset it to factory settings first. By the way, here’s how to do that: 1. While pushing in and holding the up and down arrow buttons, turn on the power. 2. The program/value display will indicate “ rL ”, and the TUNER # and LEDs will blink. Take your hand off both buttons you had been pressing. If you decide to cancel the reload operation at this point, press the down arrow button. 3. If you wish to reload the factory settings press the up arrow button. The program/value display will indicate “ Ld ” and reloading will begin. When reloading has completed, the program/value display will indicate “CP ”, and the StompLab will automatically enter Program select mode.

Regarding the Bluetooth Speaker, I just used an audio cable with an 1/8” stereo male jack on each end. Coming out of the Stomplab I used an adaptor to go from the 1/4” down to the 1/8” jack, and the other end I was able to plug right into the Bluetooth speaker. Worked surprisingly well.

Hi Joseph-That’s exactly correct about the patches. When I used this live, I would anticipate every patch change I was going to need and save them accordingly. What worked well for me was to save the same patches in 2 locations (or more). For example, u1 clean, u2 distorted rhythm, u3 lead, then u4 clean (the same patch as u1) so I wouldn’t have to scroll past u3 & u2 (which you definitely would hear!) to get back to my clean sound. Then, after that song was over, I would scroll back to u1 (or whatever). Kind of a hassle for sure, but it sounds great and fits so well into my backpack or gig bag!

Yes! You could totally run this straight into any amplifier. In order for it to function more like a series of stomp boxes, you should experiment by taking the cabinet simulation off of all of the sounds. You might like it with the cabinet simulation still on, but since most pedals don’t have a cabinet feature, turning the cabinet simulation off might help the pedal behave more like normal stomp boxes. Let me know how it goes!

Hello Albert--You're English is much better than my Spanish! Yes--I connected the Stomplab to the speaker with a 1/8" to 1/8" stereo cable. The output jack of the Stomplab is 1/4", so I also had to use a Male 1/4" to 1/8" female adaptor. As far as tuning, when you're in regular "play" mode, I believe you just simultaneously press the Program UP and Program DOWN pedals, which will both mute the Stomplab and put you in tuner mode. Enjoy!

Yes-I have used it as a single pedal/for one effect off & on. You can turn all effects off except the one you want to use, and store it that way. Depending on what you turn off, you may get differing results with the volume of the signal. But I find it to be a quite clean and quiet unit.

I think you created the Another Brick In The Wall solo preset by accident. You did well, I think you used preset 5 E1 delay 3.4 and 5.8. Spring reverb at 7. 0 and 6.9. I will double check. Thanks. Update Worked but used a Floyd Rose guitar in position 2, volume and tone at the max. Then went to a Behringer eq then to a Behringer chorus then to 2 Spartan toy speakers. May have even sounded better then the record! Note U5 to U8 are SRV patches. U9 and u0 EVH patches. u8 is 80's Chorus if you want to try out Big Log by Robert Plant.

good video that decodes that freakin' asperger user guide. Would like to share a solution to an issue I had and I also read in different forums. * Issue: when switching from one user-created program to another, the gain/volume jumps is massively until the gain/vol knob is nudged slightly...then the original gain for the 2nd program kicks in. * Solution: the edit button doubles up as a value lock button - if you set it on (per user guide page 4, button 4 and it's printed under edit button, duh!) - this locks in your pre-saved volume settings when switching between programs - avoids picking up random current vol/gain knobs positions. So obvious but that manual ..geeezzz!

I think I have used it for Bass a couple times, and there’s no problem doing so. I would guess it’s a matter of two things: 1. Since they do make a bass version of this pedal, I would assume that the effects, equalization, and compressor for example are more conducive to what a bass player would want to use. 2. I personally do not know much about electronics, but if you use the guitar version, I would guess that you might lack some of the lower frequencies often associated with a bass guitar. In other words, using the guitar pedal might cut off some of the lower frequencies. I would also think that the compressor in the guitar model might react differently than the one in the bass model. I do not work for Vox so I can’t say officially, but as a fellow player I would recommend just trying it and seeing how it works for you. I think I remember turning off the cabinet simulation when I used it-that makes it more of a direct signal as if your bass guitar is going straight into a direct box. Always remember to have all of your volumes on your base, the pedal, and your amplifier or soundboard all the way off when you plug it in, and turn all of your volumes of gradually so you don’t get any nasty surprises!

The only problem I have with this pedal is that I find it hard to(or haven't figured out) how to quickly change from the clean natural guitar sound from my guitar to an effect on the pedal. Let's that I'm playing a tune were I have a clean guitar part on the verse and them some distortion on the chorus. Would I need to save a preset just with the clean guitar sound and one with the distortion to go back and forth between them during the song? Thanks in advance!

Thank you Bahadir-I’m glad it was helpful. I have not tried this pedal with that particular amp, but my experience has been that it works well with any amplifier - as long as you set the amplifier to a straight clean sound with no effects on. In other words, besides maybe some reverb or delay, it probably would not work very well to try to use effects from both the amplifier and the Stomplab at the same time. Does that make sense?

Hey Walshfan2470--So sorry for the delay in responding--I JUST saw your last question about volume levels. You've probably figured out how to set individual volume levels for each patch by now, but… The 3rd cream-colored “chicken head” knob (the one on the far right) is by default a level knob. In other words, that knob controls the “level”, or volume of each patch even without pushing the “edit” button. So whatever sound you’re on at any given moment, if you turn that knob to the left and to the right, you should hear it change the volume or “level” of that patch. And when you get it to the level you want, go ahead and save it at that setting, and the patch should be stored at that volume level. Another way is to DO go into “edit” mode (by pushing the edit button) and selecting “AMP/DR” (Amplifier and/or Drive selections) or even “PDL” (Pedal) control (with the cream-colored “chicken head” knob on the far left). Volume levels set with the MIDDLE cream-colored “chicken head” knob for an amp, drive stage, or pedal can also be stored with the patch once you get them where you want and then save. Once thing I’ve found with all my Vox Tonelab pedals is that the patches that have distortion and high gain on them are much louder than clean sounds (I think is true of pretty much any amp, pedal, or multi-fx unit). So when I’m setting my patches, I start with my clean sounds and make sure they are loud, strong, and clean enough. Then I set all my “fuzzy” sounds to match the clean sound levels, which almost always means turning the fuzzy sounds DOWN and storing them at a much lower level so all my sounds are more even in level (I think we all hate the sudden blast of a LOUD patch that we weren’t expecting!). Soundmen don’t always appreciate this, since the overall level of the pedal ends up being fairly low in output, so they have to try boost your sound up at the soundboard. But I love having my clean/“acoustic” sounds nice and strong and clean so they don’t sound and feel “anemic” compared to the distorted sounds. I hope this helps! Cory
