Just picked up a stomplab today and my God it's awesome. I'm getting so many tones and awesome effects for just 95 bucks. Thank God VOX knows there's musicians on a budget.
@rozolax Жыл бұрын
are there clean tones? such as delay, vibrato, and other stuff
@crazynight1518 Жыл бұрын
@@rozolax yes there's atleast 100 different styles, 10 selections of 10 different variations in various styles with a knob to control the intensity of the effect and gain. Along with of course your pedal to intensify the effect or tone it down or even play lead with a selector to dim out your guitar for rhythm sections. It's also got a highly accurate build in tuner by just pressing both selector buttons at once.

First of all, this thing is less than 100 bucks. It is easy to spend $500 or $600 minimum for a simple selection of pedals for a gig. This pedal gives new to the genre folks an opportunity to experiment and learn what sounds most fit their ear and playing style. Is it perfect? It's less than $100. That's enough of an answer, methinks. I've always trusted Vox to get most things right and I found this little unit to be useful for practice with headphones. The footpedal is too small for gigging, but just fine for practice. I like it.

I've got the IIb and it is rather hard to program, its also fairly hard on batteries if you don't have a power supply, i've thought about getting rid but it is superbly flexible tone wise and very convenient to have, as bar my fuzz pedal its hard to justify buying a lot of different pedals for bass so this little box can cover (pretty close) most sounds out there.

I have just bought a new Vox stomplab IIG; when I put it in chain with a Crybaby wha and a volume pedal, it comes out a noisy twistle from the cabinets; it doesn't happen when I connect only the pedalboard. Somebody could explain how to solve the problem (everything is powered by a multiple connector that goes in the Visual sound 1 spot adapter)
@Souldoubtrocks2 жыл бұрын
Are you putting the wah after the Vox. Wah pedals don’t like impedance. So place it right after your guitar and make the Vox the last thing in your chain. The volume pedal is a tune sucker so you could make that the last thing in your chain. But if not place it after your wah and before the effects. Before the effects will cause your gain to roll off just like rolling off your guitar volume. If you want to just lower the volume but keep your gain up then place it after your dirt. Cheers.

There's no 3.5mm headphones jack, no component outputs, no USB ports or any other option to use. I'll get up and go look at it again top to bottom in case I missed anything... Yep same as I recalled initially: No outputs other than the lone guitar cable one and I looked at it everywhere. The only other thing on it is a goddam fuckin AC adapter port in case you want to save money on batteries. When I got it in the mail the other day I was freaking the fuck out trying to find the AC adapter it was supposed to come with and instead I only found a shrinkwrapped pack of 4 off-brand AA batteries (at least they were nice enough to include those I guess) and I learned that you have to literally take the entire motherfuckin device apart in order to access the goddam battery compartment! What a fuckin infuriating design! Anyway I hope that answered your question since dude above me's reply came across (to me, anyway) as a confirmation that it DOES feature a line-out seperate from the normal audio cable output... To complicated to edit/to much "menu diving"on the fly,not good for live preformance. 3. Pesets are ok but not good,too many useless ones to add quantity not quality. 4. Noisy,had to run an electro harmonics silencer to get the hiss/hum down. 5.now the big one,unit two has also failed! Only stays on if you continually hold the little power switch in tightly...let go its off... 6.Eats batteries like a fat woman@ a all you cant eat buffet,don't matter what brand or type,have to use a wall wart Decided to dissection was in order,not going to return it again&get problem child#3... Dissection completed... the little power switch must be under rated,it has signs of heat stress(kinda blackened)&is split in two...soldered a couple of jumpers&a better switch&it powers back up.... now i have to decide if its going to be worthy to be on my board or too noisy...or to give it to the neighbor kid&let him use it till it fails again Bottom line,your money could be better spent,save the money&save a bit more&buys something a bit higher priced or find a line 6 used...i wouldn't purchase it again,sorry vox,cause i love your amps !!!!

It's a wah on some presets, on others it controls other effects, eg ps30 volume, ps78 overdrive, ps5 depth of echos. On any of the 20 user settings you choose what effect the pedal controls. So for instance you could copy ps30 to user 1 and reassign the pedal to the wah effect from volume. As an amateur player I think it's pretty good for the price. I still keeping my individual foot pedals mind.

What do you guys think of these things? I know some don't like modelers but they're so damn cheap and convenient.
@gilleschiasson448510 жыл бұрын
They're cheap, and they are convenient but for me I have a certain tone I am looking for and can only really achieve though some specific boutique pedals. It cost more but the old expression 'You get what you pay for!" holds true. While I do check out a lot of reviews and have tried a few of these modelling pedals, I keep coming back to my original set up.
@PaulTheSkeptic10 жыл бұрын
Gilles Chiasson Yeah, I know most guitarists like the pricey boutique pedals. I wish I could afford more of them myself. I hear these things are not appropriate for live settings. Would you agree with that sentiment?
@gilleschiasson448510 жыл бұрын
Live is always tricky, I have back ups just in case. But the truth is, for example, I have a Stutterbox Trem with a couple very unique features, if this fails me [and it never has so far] I have an old Line 6 Tap Trem which I can fake it with. When it comes to pedals I often buy from Graigslist and have gotten some really good buys that way [a Keeley Compressor (4 knob) for a 120$ - worth new with taxes 300$] There are no sure things. What kind of tone/sound you shooting for?
@PaulTheSkeptic10 жыл бұрын
Gilles Chiasson Well I don't really know if I'm shooting for a particular sound. At least nothing I have in mind but I've been using a Digitech RP255 for a while and I'd like to start transitioning over to actual pedals. The trouble is the cash flow, or lack thereof. Joyo makes some very cheap copies. I guess they should be alright for now. I just like getting others insights on these things. I like to learn as much as I can about it.
@gilleschiasson448510 жыл бұрын
My set up is rather simple, I have volume/wah, compression, overdrive direct into amp, and trem, univibe and ditto looper in my send and return. The tone I am shooting for is a powerful, clean, late 70's CCR [Credence Clearwater Revival band] type tone/ sound. When you know what kind of tone/sound you are shooting for, it makes planning and buying less complicated. Joyo does make cheap copies but if you shop for used boutiques pedals tend to function just fine at often half the price for new or that of a Joyo copy.
