This is a French song that I know well since I am French but I had never particularly liked this song, before. I had listened to this interpretation by chance and since then, I love it but only because it is Dimash who sings it; I love this singer and I listen to him every day , his voice is just beautiful, magnificent, he can sing the lowest and highest notes, it is just awsome to listen to him (sorry for my english😋)

Dimash has been using more of his lower range in the past couple of years. Check out "Olimpico" aka "Ogni Pietra" and the song others have recommended below "Love Is Like a Dream." When he sings with Lara Fabian and/or Aida Garifullina, he keeps to the baritone-tenor range and lets the women sing the high notes.

Hi Lara, please ensure when you do Adagio you use the Singer 2017 episode. Also Confessa and Diva Dance at the same competition. Age 22 and then when you move forward you will see his improvement. I think ten of the Singer performances could objectively by many judges "in the know" rank in the top 50 of music history for live band/live singing talent competition performances. They are that good. I'm confident only bias was why he did not win after getting three first places out of the first six performances and he should have had at least two more and even Sandy Ham knew who the real winner was. Autumn Strong and Daybreak, both based on true stories, with the back stories from Gloria Wu's channel will require tissues close by. Great Analysis!

Watch 'Autumn Strong.' It is favorite performance of his because he shows an amazing amount of restraint and you get to here more of his chest voice. He sings in Mandarin and brings people to tears. For some, it is closer to sobbing. ❤❤

When you're checking out songs that take advantage of Dimash's lower range, where available, look for recent performances. His baritone is getting more gorgeous every day. I was knocked out by the 2021 Slavic bazaar performances.

I really enjoyed your reaction and analysis. As you might already know, the song “SOS (d'un Terrien en détresse)” is originally from a French-Canadian musical called ‘Starmania’ from the 1970s and is considered one of the five most difficult French songs to perform. Dimash is from Kazakhstan and he performed here at the 2017 "I AM A SINGER" competition. It is an annual Chinese music competition between famous and established professional singers where the audience phones in to determine the winner after each episode. The audience is the same throughout the entire show, 500 with musical backgrounds and they judge the show by points each week. The competition consisted of 14 rounds, lasts almost 4 months and competitors are eliminated throughout the season. Every performance is live and no lip-syncing or auto-tune is permitted. Pure unadulterated vocal ability only. This was the very first episode of the competition, and Dimash had to go first because he was considered the weakest given that he was completely unknown to the audience. He had been invited as a wildcard and was the first foreigner and youngest person to ever compete in the show. After this performance, he became a superstar in China overnight. His Chinese competitors called him their "little imported brother." The other already well-known contestants were in absolute awe of him and joked that they might as well go home. Dimash won the first two episodes! He also won the 6th, for his rendition of “Adagio”, a song made famous by Lara Fabian. First place went to the famous Chinese 51 y/o singer Sandy. Sandy's first album came out before Dimash was even born. Dimash took second place, however, lost by a very narrow margin. He lost a lot of points for his performance of “Uptown Funk”. Although Dimash did not win the show, he immediately became a beloved star in China. As part of the contest contestants/performers are each required to perform one original song they have composed. Dimash sang “Unforgettable Day”, a song he wrote when he was still in his teens - it's a love song. He sang in both the original Kazakh as well as in Chinese even though he did not speak Chinese at the time and had to have a translator with him throughout the competition. Here is the order of Dimash’ss performances for The Singer 2017. The contest lasts 14 weeks, but Dimash has only 13 performances because he had already made it into the semi-finals by week 11. 1. S.O.S. (French) 2. Opera 2 (Russian) 3. The Show Must Go On (English) 4. Autumn Strong (Mandarin) 5. Uptown Funk (English) 6. Adagio (English) 7. Daididau (Kazakh) 8. Daybreak (Mandarin) 9. All By Myself (English) 10. Unforgettable Day (Mandarin/Kazakh) 11. Bye week - He had already made it into the semis 12. Confessa/Diva Dance (Mandarin/Italian/Alien) (Semi-finals) 13. Michael Jackson Tribute Medley (English) (Finals) 14. Give Me Love (Makhabbat ber maghan) (Kazakh) The last performance was part of the 2017 Biennial Concert and not part of the competition. It was broadcast live and is an original song written for Dimash.

Bergen is german word for mountains. So, when I started to listen to Dimash I had the impression he came from the high mountains of Kudai to tell us stories of another world. Now, I know his last name means in kazakh "gift of god" which is true, literally. You want more low notes of Dimash? How about "Ti Amo Cosi" where he sings completely in baritone register? A trio with Aida Garifullina and Lara Fabian. And I've seen you reacted to Diana Ankudinova. Do not stop reacting to her until you've seen "Rechenka". This performance of her at the age of 14 is a once in a lifetime experience. Pure magic in every aspect.

This song is from the Canadian-French rock opera Starmania written in 1976 by Michel Berger and with lyrics by Luc Plamondon. He made his debut in 1978 with a studio recording of songs, before premiering on stage in 1979. The main character sings this lullaby when he has lost his beloved.
