Congratulations, you just witnessed the greatest vocalist alive. He’s from Kazakhstan, sings in 15 different languages (speaks Kazakh and Russian fluently, some English, and a little Mandarin), plays 8 musical instruments and is currently working on his PhD in musicology (has a Masters in composition). He was 22 in this performance and is 28 now (only gotten better). The high note that you thought was an F# is actually an E6 , which isn't even his highest whistle note (D8 in "Unforgettable Day" at Gakku). Many vocal coaches think him to be a counter tenor after the first listen, then later determine he is a baritone, then after recent performances determined there is no classification for Dimash. He’s been training since the age of 5, has a 7 octave 2 semi-tone range, has absolute pitch, and is an amazingly humble man. His mother is an opera singer and his father is a singer and producer. He sings every genre (even raps) He has many recent performances, but I would highly recommend "Sinful Passion" 2018 at Sochi, then "Stranger" 2021 at New Wave, "Olimpico" 2019 link on Igor Krutoy's (composer that came out of retirement to work with Dimash) KZbin channel, "Ikanaide" 2021 Tokyo Jazz Festival, and "Ave Maria" 2021at New Wave. After digesting those performances, I can't stress enough my recommendation for his most recent song and music video (mini movie) the artistic masterpiece "The Story of One Sky" that he wrote the screenplay for and spent 3 years composing the music for, which displays a lot of his range (not all) and soooo many vocal techniques and dynamics, including sub harmonics, whistle register, bass, tenor, baritone, classical, jazz, pop, rock and unreal metal screams....and unbelievable dramatic acting. Each performance will leave you stunned. Thank you for reacting to our Dimash from a loyal "Dear" (fandom name given to us by Dimash, because we are dear to him like his family).

Yeah....just ask a DESR and we'll give you a total run down.🤣 I agree with the 5 most awe inspiring song choices. Sinful Passion is usually next in the order of requested. Then Ogni Pietra/Olimpico. Then the Dears go nuts after those three...🤣🤣🤣...well, it's true, right? I have been a Dear since January/February of 2017...from the very very beginning. So trust us,...we have seen the worst and the very best reaction videos. NOTE: Dimash fandom is very cultish and can be extremely critical...so be aware of that if you do wish to go down that road. Not trying to back you away...just making you aware.😉

He sings in 14 languages, speaks Kazakh, Russian, quite good in English now and some mandarin. Plays seven instruments, composes, directs, models, etc. lives with his extended family as is the Kazakh tradition. Sings many genres from opera through to rap and has seven octave range. Sell out concerts. And is very much the humanitarian, loves all nationalities, ages and religions. Very respectful and humble. A total sweetheart. Try Stranger, in English, Ikenaide in Japanese, Ogni Pietra in Italian etc. to see a bit of how he has developed since that S O S performance 2017. He is 28 now.

This is from 'I Am Singer' in China 2017. This is a show featuring seasoned artists from China. They invited Dimash (who is from Kazakhstan) to compete as a wild card. This is the 1st song of the show and is the song that made Dimash famous world wide. His fans are known as 'Dears'. Dimash was also the youngest singer on the show. Dimash is now 28 (in 2022). He continues to sing SOS and improve on it. Dimash has a 7+ octave range and is beautiful in each. He sings in 14 languages and multiple genres. This is the tip of the iceberg. He has a huge catalog and will shock and amaze you with every song/performance. He is 6'3" and model beautiful. He is kind and loving and doesn't cuss or drink. Thank you for checking him out, please do more Dimash. Also, you will need to give a link to official videos and cover or block the videos on your channel. We are o.k. with this and will watch and give credit to Dimash for his hard work and then come to you and give you credit for yours. win win. :)

This song is a pearl of the French songbook is a Canadian-French cyberpunk-rock opera called Starmania, written in 1976 by Michel Berger (France) and with lyrics by Luc Plamondon (Canada) and immortalized in the voices of Daniel Balavoine, Diane Dufresne and Grégory Lemarchal. The song's theme is depression: In the 2021 version, Dimash faithfully and brilliantly presents a sentimental and melancholy interpretation! As the singing decisions follow the original structure of the song, which serves to show the psychological instability of the distressed character: From chest voice to head voice and then falsetto, the author aimed to show a broad need to win a long of desperation and the need to reach a very high perspective! Dimash, currently in his concerts, dedicates this song to his friends and acquaintances who left this world!

Thank you so much for the reaction video :) Dimash is indeed an university Bel Canto graduate, and a Contemporary (Jazz, Pop) graduate. He started vocal+piano school at age 5, and classical training at age 16. Teachers noticed since he was 5 that he has absolute pitch. He has a wide range since he was a kid, and he kept his soprano range, while his baritone-bass range has grown fuller and more resounding with age. He practiced with soprano arias mostly on his own, as his teacher didn`t particularly encourage him, but didn`t forbid him either. Officially, he trained mostly as a tenor. But leaving classifications aside, Dimash has full control over all of his registers, from bass to soprano, and over classical and contemporary techniques. He is a master of dynamics, and has a good grip on the "messa di voce" technique as well. I think he is the hardest to match at breath control, and his breathy singing is second to none. Nobody toes the line between singing note and pure breath like he does. Vocal prowess aside, he is a grounded, decent, respectful guy, who works a lot (3 hours/day just vocal training), and has a normal, clean life, doesn`t smoke, doesn`t get drunk, doesn`t do drugs, just plays some sports, swims, and works on his music, rehearses, and plans his shows. He is an independent artist with his own creative center, but he has fan clubs in 100+ countries of the world, filling stadiums and concert halls wherever he goes. And people fly in from 30-60 countries to attend his concerts. A month ago I flew from Europe to Kazakhstan to be at his concert. We love him like a friend and a brother, and he loves his fans like they`re his extended family, and calls them "Dears". I`ll stop here :) I think you should have a look at another performance of his sometime : "Sinful Passion" - kzbin.info/www/bejne/j3uonXp-Z82kq9k (has english subtitles, turn them on :) there`s some nice vocal text-painting going on :) )

Yes, he studied classically from age 5 until age 25 and still meets with his vocal coach from time to time when he is home. H also began contemporary vocals as he aged. He is from Kazakhstan, tall at 6'3", athletic, kind, generous, loving, a compulsive man who trains his vocals and instruments 6 hours a day. Is so busy with concerts all over the world, he can barely get home. This was the first performance the Chinese "I Am Singer" had ever heard him, and they were shocked. He did not win this competition because he was not Chinese. He is stunning in every performance.

This is by far Dimash’s best rendition of SOS. One for the history books! I’ll never get tired of listening to it. That opening of the vocal chords on the very last note is genius. In fact, I wait to hear it every time!

Welcome to the world of Dimash! I love watching vocal coaches hear him for the first time! I hope you will react to more of his beautiful music. He sings many genres and often mixes them together. I will suggest "Ikanaide" from the Tokyo Jazz Festival as your next Dimash song. It's in Japanese and means "don't leave" but has English subtitles.

Oh, I just LOOOOVE new reactors! They get the same shocked look that all of us did....except, that shocked look NEVER stops with each of his videos! He offers something spectacular that will surprise you in each of his videos. Dimash not only sings in French, but in 15 different languages, as he just released a Spanish video. He speaks 2 languages fluently and is learning mandarin and getting much better at English. He plays 7 instruments. He has been training since he was 5 years old, and is currently studying for his doctorate in Music Theory. You would think that would be enough, but he is a humble, loving, giving person....and SMART. Extremely wise and loves his country, his family and also his "Dears", the name he coined for we fans. Welcome to Dimash' magical, beautiful, loving world. His mission is to make the world a good place and he passes that feeling on to all of us so that we can be better people. I hope you don't jump right into his newest creation, The Story of One Sky, just yet. Please react to other older songs first so that you can say how far, (unbelievably, he HAS gotten better!!) he has gotten since The Singer, where he became an instant star with this song. Welcome!🖤

Bow down to the King.......... Now you know..... Luv your reaction - beautifully done.... Dimash's lower register is MUCH deeper & richer now as Males don't fully mature until 25+ - best Vocalist alive. saw him live - 4 hrs str8 - did not miss a note - his tone is like an accelerating train & his voice literally moves thru your body like a shockwave...... Smooth as Glass transitions - No note on the Piano is safe

He opened the show's annual contest (I Am Singer) of professional Chinese singers from different genres of music competing for Chinese Singer of the Year as the youngest ever and first special non-Chinese wildcard invitee with THIS performance. He was an instant sensation. Any of his performances from the 14 week competition are reaction worthy but THIS became his signature performance. HIGHLY suggest u resist for now his more recent performances and first savor the wine. Suggest next his 2018 performance of Sinful Passion where u will witness a couple of gems u will see nowhere else. Please do not overlook near the end...a set of 3 belts. Dimash takes a breath just before 3rd and then proceeds into a set of runs lasting @ 24 seconds on the one breath. Welcome to the rabbit hole of our planet's greatest singer. I found him @ 5 years ago with this same performance u just viewed. U are now are now irreversibly hooked...dont fight it. Mark

This was Dimash's first viral video when he was invited to be the only non-Chinese competitor in the 2017 'I Am Singer,' a contest only of professional singers -- no amateurs. This was his first song in the competition. Fans went so crazy that he was immediately assigned bodyguards to protect him. He was overwhelmed by the reception of the Chinese audience and, I think because of that, has it incentivized him to perform in China quite frequently and give emphasis to learning Mandarin, along with English. You have just scratched the surface of understanding Dimash's capabilities, however. Dimash is the son of professional singers and, thus, was learning to sing while in his mother's womb. Indeed, a reviewer from India made a very astute comment that he sounds like music is his first language, and I think that could very well be true. He then began singing and piano lessons at age 5, now plays 7 musical instruments, completed two bachelor degrees in classical music and in contemporary music, with a master's in music composition, and has been accepted into a Ph.D program in music. He has sung in 15 different languages. He is not just the world's greatest singer in my opinion; he is the greatest musical innovator -- continually mastering and mixing every style and technique you can imagine. Dimash KILLED the "impossible" Diva Dance computer-assisted song from the Fifth Element, and he did it in a live performance (kzbin.info/www/bejne/pWbdfqimirSah9E). Two great songs that show off his range and additional styles and techniques are Olimpico (aka Ogni Pietra), created for him to sing in Italian at a major sports event (kzbin.info/www/bejne/fampnmOdoriNmLM) and his 2021 song Stranger (kzbin.info/www/bejne/onfWc2h-i9OgiaM). It is confusing to reviewers to classify his high range and often refer to his "whistle tones," but if you listen to his new recording of Ave Maria (kzbin.info/www/bejne/o32qaZpopNR5iaM) -- all in female voice -- it is difficult to classify any of that as "whistle" any more than the singing of female high soprano singers. His ability to perform also matches his ability to sing, as demonstrated in Adagio (kzbin.info/www/bejne/m5LUY2eFndB1iKc) and The Show Must Go On (kzbin.info/www/bejne/q52WnKN7ZtaWpdk), both of which he sang four years ago in the Chinese competition, Singer. By the way, Dimash's English has greatly improved since then. His rendition of Autumn Strong in Mandarin (kzbin.info/www/bejne/fIm0ZmuLYqqXmsk) had the Chinese audience in tears. (Watch the introduction to understand the back story.) He recently performed a Japanese version of the same song, re-titled as Ikanaide (kzbin.info/www/bejne/bp6wXpWmarV1aZY) While it is the same tune, it is performed quite differently as part of the Tokyo Jazz Festival. Japanese reactors also seem very touched by the song and say his Japanese sounds nearly native. I love his studio-produced video Screaming because he gets to sing multiple parts (kzbin.info/www/bejne/nXfVgouZfbijaMU). His movie theme song is also great (Across Endless Dimensions at kzbin.info/www/bejne/b5bJeop8nalrl5Y). There are more recent versions of that song performed before live audiences. Sinful Passion (Russian-kzbin.info/www/bejne/jWqpnXeDeNRrgrc) shows off an amazing 25-second run and Arabic singing technique. And I love his use of vocal fry in Love is Like a Dream (Russian-kzbin.info/www/bejne/rn2ogq2cprSSopI). Even if you don't want to do reaction videos for all of these videos, you should watch them for your own pleasure. And I am leaving a dozen of my favorites off this long list.

I am going to try to give a personal synopsis of this video that I have taken away and even this is small in comparison to this Masterpiece and even though I understand that I cannot even bring to the foremost the most incredible vocal performance that Dimash has ever given although, I will simply state that Dimash is the most amazing vocal talent on the face of the earth at this time and might be arguably of all time - I have heard many of the "best singers" in the world. The writing is incredible, the cinematography is insane, and I would state that this is a better movie in 13 minutes that I have seen from 30 years of movie experiences. In the first part of the video, we see a seeing an attempt between real friends that has many symbolic meaning of water in many cultures and religions and I am assuming that Piper is the young man providing life supportive attempts. The protagonist who I will refer to as Dimash further, is rescued from his death and has a changed outlook on life based on is expression on being revived. They establish friendships including a symbol that they wear around their necks. There is inference that the girl shown chooses the older boy Piper over our protagonist who we see later. We are then thrown into horrible view of a war where Piper has become in charge "to provide freedom and safety dividing people into groups associated by cultural, political and religious beliefs" which is commonly used in the past 1000 years to kill millions or billions of individuals (see the history of the past 20th century) and Piper used the very same symbol that they had made as friends as a symbol of the order of totalitarianism he has taken. We see that many atrocities are being committed and that our protagonist Dimash is trying to fight against with all of the horrors of war included, including Dimash having to kill others. Dimash is reminded that he is protecting his wife and child - you can see the part of the video that shows him thinking about the both of them in the midst of the war and the representation of the symbol that was found on friendship and love which was place upon his daughter's neck prior before but it was changed in the viewing of Piper who has the symbol on his hate as a symbol of totalitarianism. Dimash remembers the symbol they have already placed around their neck. On the other side, we are told that his older friend who saved him earlier is now the premier of a totalitarian regime. Piper's wife (the girl earlier in the first part of the video who chose Piper) is pregnant and is expected to deliver - this is where I am confused because we see a scene of the woman of the child holding the child and the woman has the symbol around her neck which makes me think that I could be wrong and the girl in the first part of the video did choose Dimash and they had the beautiful baby girl and she is now pregnant again with another child holding out against a totalitarian regime to have her second child who would then be the second child of Dimash and might explain why she is not seen when Dimash comes upon his first born girl - this is such an intricate story left for everyone to make interpretations but brought back together under a unified message. I am going to move forward under my first assumption that the woman seen holding the girl is a woman who chose Piper instead of Dimash, but after viewing it, I could be very wrong. We are shown at 9:34 a moment of the blowing of a shofar which has multiple cultural and religious significant inferences in multiple religious and cultures. We are then shown the horrors of mass killing in a "war" including the murder of unarmed individuals and the lead up to a child shown initially with all innocence followed by the sound of a locking and loading of a gun. We are then brought back to our protagonist who returns after this only to find that all the individuals who were unarmed were brutally murdered by Piper's army. Dimash is searching for his family after intense fighting and pain and his resultant search is incredibly heightened by Dimash's pure vocal skill here including a "yodeling" and staccato song that is rises ecstatically and horribly by his incredible performance or something that I have no references to include - he produces a technique that has not been really described as a vocal technique (at least that I have searched for many times after hearing "Sinful Passion" where he reaches such a yodel and staccato at such a rapidity that seems in my humble opinion unreal but he has shown this before in Sinful passion (please somebody tell me how he does this as this alone is amazing on vocal techniques indifferent to the pain expressed - simply yet another side of Dimash's vocal performance that is unmatched and unheard of)). In the story, he horribly comes upon the body of his beautiful daughter who was killed (no words that I can express here about that) and we are also introduced to the incredible pain that is needed to bring a new life at the same time he is experiencing that most catastrophic pain in his life comparing and yet contrasting the pain of bringing a child into the world as well as losing a child by any parent. Notice the cinematography here. While the woman is given birth we see her almost haloed in a muted (by pain) light signifying bringing in life and Dimash is surrounded by shadow and darkness signifying death. The music in the "yodeling" form is beyond incredible to express both the pain of giving birth as well as losing a child to include the sobbing overtones in this form of music and the acting is simply incredible here requiring all participants to draw from pain that most of us would never understand. The protagonist then seeks revenge to Piper and kills Piper in revenge at the same time Piper's wife who has the symbol around her neck (the girl seen in childhood scene) is giving birth and is shown to die after the process of a labor gone horribly wrong surrounded by many people of all different cultures and beliefs at the very same time that Piper dies and Dimash dies. Dimash is killed yet we are brought back to the same water symbolism as I imagine this was his dying thoughts where we are told (his vocal tone is scream) that "We choose life" which echoes as a call from Dimash on his death! I will add that there is a symbolic contrast here that is critical - we start off seeing that Dimash is revivied by Piper and then we see after he seeks revenge that he is in the same experience as his "previous" death experience, under water symbolizing a cycle or redemption versus the unfortunate cycle of revenge and death until we are called by the protagonist to choose life above all else. The return to the water scheme is very important as we also understand the new birth of babies to be surrounded by water in the womb but also brings full circle the beginning of the story where he almost died in water but was saved by piper yet ultimately he ended killing piper and dying himself - the irony was that the path after the water save in the beginning was only a temporary reprieve for both of them dying. This might escape viewers. We then see that after Piper's wife dies in childbirth, the symbol is handed down to the newborn baby and it is my opinion that at the end of the video, we see the child of Piper and his wife (not the protagonist), based on the symbol being placed on the newborn's neck, leading people to a better place of loving and tolerance and acceptance, although it is not lost on me that the final Dimash shown has a water stain on his shirt which may imply that this is truly Dimash either resurrected or the symbol of his experiences - very deep, very thought provoking. Just my interpretation and there is still more that I probably missed such as the flash back to their childhood experiences after the protagonist's death. A phenomenal (unearthly) vocal performance, a phenomenal writing, a phenomenal directing, a phenomenal cinematography and simply a phenomenal experience even though it is hard and even brutal to view, but the end message is very appropriate and even more so needed to be heard world wide. I need to watch this even more times to see the intricacies and meanings wrapped in intricacies and meaning. Even if you disagree with any of my synopsis, how can you not be moved by this?

👉 This was a historic moment and is Dimash’s calling card. That is the song of the songs for Dimash and us, his Dears (That is what Dimash calls us fans.) The best comment from a Dear under the first video: „If you are having a bad day, remember, someone had to sing after him.“ 🤣 That one moment when a vblogger first hear Dimash and is instantly mesmerized by it... priceless and beautiful to watch. I love it!This song is one of the most difficult songs to sing and made Dimash a mega-star overnight in 2017 (The Singer). The song comes from the famous Canadian-French rock opera 'Starmania' (1978) and is known in the English-speaking world as Tycoon (1995). Music: Michel Berger and Luc Plamondon (French original text). The English adaptation is by Tim Rice. That's how it all started: In 2017 Dimash received a wildcard for the “The Singer” competition in China. He was the youngest participant ever (22 years old). Foreign participants were actually forbidden at that time. The director ignored the ban, believing Dimash would only stay 1 or 2 episodes and then go home. The competition is not a talent show. Only professional, award-winning singers participate. Nobody knew or heard Dimash before and he had to start first ... and after his first song "SOS" Dimash captured the hearts of over 600 million viewers and a mega-star was born overnight. The next day bodyguards were at his door and now he is a superstar but without airs... just our Dimash. The competition consisted of 14 rounds over 4 months. The jury consisted of 500 spectators who knew music, not just your average "Joe". They were well screened to be sure they would be able to judge the musicians fairly and competently. With up to 1 billion people watching this TV program and international interest was aroused. The performances were uploaded to KZbin ... and so we became Dimash's Dears. The Chinese organizers planned... but Dimash came, sang and stayed ... for the next 3 years in China ... but he only finished second in the competition because he is not Chinese (conditions have changed: 2018, Jessie J. Won). * Original: Daniel Balavoine - SOS d'un terrien en détresse (Starmania) - kzbin.info/www/bejne/b5y9pneeqrmerqc
